CE to Xbox conversion

Post by a mammoth »

Ok I know there is a program that lets you convert maps from CE to xbox and PC, but what I don't know is if its released or not. So is it?
My real name is a Mammoth, if someone who cares sees this, please change my name to a Mammoth

Inferno is wrong with his information. The program you are referring to isn't released and there is no program available today (to the public) that does these conversions.

Sapien was the same program Bungie used to create all the halo maps, (including the ones for Xbox) the program has been slightly modified for use with CE and I havnt yet heard of any use of Sapien to convert CE to Xbox maps in any way at all.

It has Xbox-Sync because of the nature of the program. It orriginally made Xbox maps, and so it really makes sense for it to have that feature for Bungie's uses.

You also asked about the compression thing in sparkedit...

In Xbox maps, to modify them they have to be "uncompressed" Halo does this itself to run the map when it makes it a cache file. To play the map on your Xbox again, you need to either put it in your cache as an uncompressed map, or in your maps folder as a compressed map. (with the corrisponding internal name ofcourse)

convert a map from xbox to what?. CE or PC? I'd assume so, considering all you do is inject models, you could just reinject those models into the other games aswell.

The problem with CE-Xbox is that CE has a LOT of custom tags, whereas most mods for Xbox have some modded tags, not neccessarilly NEW.

I dont know anything about modchips :/

And Xbox tags are universal?... I dont know :/
