Sapien
Sapien
I recently downloaded HEK. I am trying to open Sapien according to one of the tutorials. When the open dialog box comes up, I type in tutorial.scenario as instructed by the tutorial. Sapien loads for about 4 seconds, then dissappears. It never opens long enough to even see what the problem is. I have also tried typing in a map name then .scenario. Again the program will load for about 4 seconds then close. Can someone explain to me what the problem could be and how to circumvent it? I have tried uninstalling HEK and reinstalling it to no avail. Please help!

You actually have to have a .scenario file. It is not something that you just type in. You make the model in 3ds max into a jms and then build all the tags, including a .scenario, in tool. Then you place the world objects in sapien. There is a huge difference between .maps and .scenarios. The purpose of the HEL is to make a new scenario, and then make that into a map.
PM me if you have more questions.
After thinking about it - I am guessing that your next question will be this - how can I convert a .map to a .scenario? Well, A "decompiler" has never been released before, but people have programmed them for personal use. The reason one hasn't been released yet is because you would be able to rip things from other people's custom maps, and put it in your own. This would just suck. Prometheus will have a map decompiler built into it, but it will only be able to decompile the original halo maps, not custom made ones. There is nore information about prometheus here and here
Again, PM or IM me if you want more information
