ok..i give...theres a secret to rebuilding maps

first of all i want to get a pelican in death island...so here's what i did

1) copied .map file of DI into a folder

2) Batch extracted DI into the folder with all four boxes checked

3) then i opened up a .map file with the pelican in it and went to vehicles>pelican>pelican

4)then i checked the box that said recrusive and pressed the save meta button and saved it to a folder called "PelicanMeta"

5) then i went into the PelicanMeta folder and pressed cntrl+A and coppied

6) I went to my batch extraced DI folder and pasted and said yes to all [the Q that asked about replacing]

7) Then i opened up HMT v3 and clicked "rebuild map"

8 ) then i opened up the backup .map file of DI and it auto filled all those boxes

then i get slightly confused at this point which is probably where i'm messing up

9) Then I click add files and go to the pelican meta folder and pressed cntrl+A and it opened up the first folder instead of just adding all the files

i got dissapointed that it couldn't just add them all at once....so

10) thinking the obivous solution...i went to every folder and added every indavidual file in the whole PelicanMeta folder

finally being done

11) I pressed rebuild map...a few seconds later it finished

^^Thats what I did^^

....after all that, i went into HMT v3 and opened up the rebuilt map

it opened succesfully...but where alll the tags should be....was simply a big white blank area, it was like there was nothing in it

so i compared the sizes of the origianl map to the rebuilt map...this is what i got

origianl .map file - 17.0 mb
rebuilt .map file- 12.0 mb

!wtf!

i'm totally out of ideas of what to do to prevent this, and have been unsuccesfull everytime

plz...someone help :cry:

when u batch extract only check metadata insted of the four boxes u just want to check metadata.

Btw, you only have to select the Pelican.vehi.meta file when you add files. Other files it needs will be injected automatically.

1. Put Death Island In Its Own Folder.
2. Batch Extract Death Island Checking Only Meta Data.
3. Open A30 And Find Pelican Under Vehicles.

6. Open Death Island In Halo Map Tools V3.
7. Click Rebuild Map And Open That Death Island.Map.
8. It Will Ask If It Should Fill In Spaces Automatically.
9. Click Yes And Now Click Add Under Additional Files.
10. In Death Island Folder Goto Vehicles --> Pelican --> Pelican.Vehi.Meta And Click That And Press Ok.
11. Now Click Build.
12. When Done Change File Death Island.Rebuild.Map In Death Island Folder To Death Island.map.
13. Put That .Map Into Halo MAPS Folder.
14. Now Open That ( Death Island ) In Halo Map Tools V3.
15. Goto Vehicles And Swap Warthog With Pelican.
16. Now Goto A30 And Export Pelican Models.
17. Open Blood Gulch And OverWrite The Pelican Models With The New Pelican Models You Just Exported.
18. Goto Pelican Under Vehicles And Change Pelican-Driver Or Sumtin Like That To B-Driver.
19. Open Halo And Then Death Island.
20. Pelican Will Be In Place Of Warthog.
21. Have Fun!

but whenever i try to import a model into death island...it says an unhandled error has occured

the first model gets the error when i try to import

but i can get the other 2 in...and ideas?

Sigh... Ok Here's What You Do.

1. You Already Have Pelican In Death Island.
2. Goto A30 And Go Under Pc Models.
3. Find Pelican And Export Both Models. ( Or How Many There Are )
3. It Will Say Yes Or No. Pick Yes.
4. Open Blood Gulch And Go Under Pc Models.
5. Find Pelican And Import Both Models OverWritin The Pelicans.

ya i did everything u did except that i couldn't import the first model. i did the next two fine. does the 1st matter? (first meaning the unamed 0)

wow this is so gay. i do wat u tell me exactly then just get an exception.
could some1 please tell me a way that actually works? and also with SP i can drive a pelican but about 1 minute later guess what EXCEPTION!
god i hate that fucking thing. why couldn't stupid gearbox just let us jackup our games?

they do let you

its just not that easy

are you making sure to click save in HMT and then closing map?

or are you using Hex WS?

deadly....dont' you mean overright the models in Death Island and not bloodgulch

and i still can't get the first model

its fine wiht out it...but no matter where you walk your whole screen is filled with jagged random pelican parts

GRrr I have gone through this process 3 times....It still gives me exception errors..The first time it wouldnt let me import the first model...And the second...The third time i just said screw it about importing models, still gave me an exception error in Death Island... In HMT3 when I try to import the first model, it gives some error... Please help me somehow!!

1.no they don't let u if they did they wouldn't have made that fucking error box
2.HMT will always save every move. 1 time i changed something and then quit without saving. but somehow it worked anyway. this is pretty stupid and should be fixed in HMT4.
3. Hex WS doesn't save even if u tell it to. it is the worst program to use besides Paint.
so u wanna tell me how to do it or post pointless remarks?
