can anyone tell me whats causing those black shadows in the distance??

I've tried searching HM and google and everywhere but seriously I just haven't found any sort of topic on it...........

I'm going to guess and say either corrupted lightmaps or corrupted ground skin.
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

If when you get close it turns blue then I would say that you didn't turn on mip maps when saving out the edited blue texture assuming that you were editing it in the first place...other that that I have no idea other than what philly said about the corrupted lightmaps :P

I don't think it's corrupted light maps because it only happens when I add a white texture to the bloodground bitmap but when I switch it back to brown and green it's perfectly fine.

Then did you remember to generate the mip maps?

Had this problem a year ago, it's your ground texture.

i also get this when i skin the walls on sw and beavercreek. like when you are too far away or off to an angle you get these weird black shadows.

EDIT:

NVM, I fixed it!! turns out I wasn't generating the MIP maps like I though I had been doing!! Thanks for the help everyone! and thanks for the suggestion suiadan! ;-D
