FTD - Ideas for Multiplayer Maps and New BSPs

Ok, after playing every multiplayer map for a bit, I have come to some conclusions about which maps need to DIE and which maps to keep. I'd like it if anybody can offer any ideas for single player BSPs and/or their themes. For example, someone showed me a new theme they made for Assault on the Control Room. I'd also like some suggestions on what to do with the existing multiplayer maps, too.

Ok, here are the maps which are going to have their BSPs surgically removed, and healther ones transaplanted:
  • Damnation - No ideas
    Boarding action - No ideas
    Wizard - No ideas
    Chiron TL 34 - No ideas
And here are the maps I am keeping:
  • Battle creek - Renamed to 'Beaver Creek', a few skins
    Sidewinder - Renamed to 'Avalanche', darker and bluer
    Rat race - No ideas
    Prisoner - No ideas
    Hang 'em high - Spooky flood infested map at midnight, I think (still to make)
    Chill out - No ideas
    Derelict - Add a new sky, other than that, no ideas
    Bloodgulch - Renamed to 'Coagulation', a few new pieces of scenery and skins
    Longest - No idea (go on, Andrew_b :P )
    Icefields - Complete white out with falling snow, remove all ice (still to do)
    Death island - No ideas
    Danger canyon - No ideas
    Infinity - No ideas
    Timberland - No ideas
    Gephyrophobia - Mancannons... (still to do)
Of course, none of these is final so I'll edit the lists if I change my mind. :) Also, while multiplayer will not be joiner friendly, I'm still trying to keep the maps practical and fun to play on with other people (so that means no flames, no meteors falling out of the sky and killing you). Also, I'm going to use the same tags from campaign, so I'm not looking for any weapon ideas, either. All the weapons will be taken directly from single player and modified slightly to make them more balanced, ect. The weapons will be the same across all maps, although custom starting weapons will be different on every map, and there will be some hidden 'easter egg' weapons in some maps.

Any ideas? I know what people say about it being a map for noobs with all the nading and stuff, but I quite like it. That's why I'm keeping it. :P

Maybe the Exterior (bsp1) from 343 Guilty Spark on the Chiron BSP?

I would use that and one from Halo, but they give exceptions whne converted because of missing Detail Object Collections.

You touch Damnnation and I kill you ;)

Boarding action - I always thought a bridge between the two would be fun.

Wizard and Chiron - SP > MP BSP's? "Halo" hasn't been used very much. Maybe take the BSP where the big light bridge is and play around that room, for Wizard.

Prisoner - Make it bigger.

Ice Fields - I like the idea of making it grassy ;)

Death Island - It's the biggest map. Make it feel like it is. Put some powerful vehicles, maybe not as much as an elephant, but you know. Make it harder to get to the opponents base...

Timberland - I like it, how it is. The only thing I don't like is the skins are too flat. Maybe you can put some type of hydro-processing scenery on or near the river. Make it in the future, when it's not so "naturey".

Infinity - This is the same as death island. I'm not sure if this is biggger, but it sure is big. Do the same with death island. I like infinity, but some people say it's too big. So make it more busy, with hazards and what not.

Danger Canyon - I really like this map too. My mod had it swampy, raining... The problem I think with it, is it's too small. Make it a bigger bsp, and if you don't want to do that, put something special in it.

I C WUT U DID THUR.

Meh, Longest is so...boring. I really outdid that map. You could try doing what I did, just make the lighting better and reskinning it. Also, if you want to use my textures, you are free to do so.

Umm, kinda doing that now also so it should be interesting if Philly does this also. The old, OLD PepNess Project original had a map in it for IceFields by Team Armageddon that did this exact thing and I wanted to try it myself also like bring the mod back to it's roots with that first project.

My map vs. your Philly? :wink:

...if you choose to do this that is.

That is an interesting idea. Sorta like how Sandwinder took sidewinder in a complete new direction environmentally.

@Cream Cheese or Cottage cheese since you like it, i have a map idea but this is a secretive map so ill tell you if your on msn when im on.


But maybe some switches to activate elevators/ bridges?

Make Icefeilds a desert map, because snow and sand pile up, and the BSP was made to incorporate snow. Have the ice be like wet sand, mud, whatever, you're original. But yes, a desert Icefields would be pretty sweet.
DangerCanyon is my favorite map, I always thought a night-time snow map on it would be pretty sweet.

I made a grassy icefields, but it looks shit so far, so no screens yet. I could easily turn it into a desert map if I didn't like it, so I might just do that.
