Looks badass, but isn't something that belongs in Halo. It just doesn't look like it belongs.

But isn't that the point of modding? To make something new.

Yes absolutely, however I can't really see this fitting in realistically to anything. It looks awesome, and if you can make it match a theme that'd be awesome, but I couldn't ever really see this existing in real-life. It's awesome, but not very realistic for how you applied it.

But seriously, that is a very very badass texture.

Understood... I guess I just prefer style over function.

If you made a gothic version of Halo that would fit in peferctly, it looks like a badass shuriken, me love it.

It just looks too repetitive.

Repeating texture is repetitive?

Seriously though thanks for the feedback.

I've been having difficulty finding a way to make these textures appear more random.

Smaller details tend to hide it better but tend to appear more pixilated and bland.

i may be of help there...see that big black area on the texture? fill that up with more of the gray pattern that covers most of the texture (not completely if you don't want to, just so that it is mostly gray (like the rest of the texture))

and also there's a bright spot that is hard to see in the light but sticks out in the dark part of the pic that you might wanna darken to match the rest of it

here's a pic to help point out what i'm talking about

Thanks Abe.

I understand where you are going. I chose to sacrifice the few long shot cut scenes for the textures appearance up close.

Here are a few in play shots to show how it works in the halls.

I particularly like the way it frames the door here.

And I tried a similar pattern out for Gothic armor after niktheweirdmodder's comment.

Let me know what you think of it overall.

Might try one out without the gears (the dark portion you referred to)

If you did a six hundred sixty six type mod it would mesh fine, but that gothic look doesn't match halo. at all.

I'm liking that marine's shoulder

Understood Mr. Brightside.

I was thinking of replacing the small segments of Detail Panel Strip (just behind the marine in last pic) with something like a spinal column and a red background.

Carry that through.

I reached the limit of what I wanted to do on the Marble pillar due to my inability to inject anything but remodels.

Thought I'd try something a bit darker... a bit more detailed... and completely hand drawn.

Doesn't look good at all.

I like the texture itself, not the application. the shoulder does look pretty cool, however.

If you can make it more organic looking it would make a great flood texture.

It works on small spaces, but on large spaces.. it looks bad.

I am beginning to agree.

I like it everywhere but the large open patches of flooring.

I may end up doing something more to the scale of the shoulder plate and see how that turns out.

I'm also toying with turning the marine shirt into chainmail to tie it in with the shoulder style.

I haven't found the exact texture wrapping on the forearm armor yet so it may be a bit before I can get it to meld properly.
