Corrupted Models

Well I'm currently making my first kinda big mod and I'm beginning to have problems ever since I duplicated the assault rifle. When I inject it I have stray vertices everywhere it shows on HMT and when I play it the gun is completely invisible. Any fixes (Philly?) or anyone else with experience with this problem. And yes I have re-injected the original model, still the same.

You're gonna have to do another build. You forgot to decrap your models, or did so incorrectly.

Yeah, I'd just say try it again. Consult a tutorial if the condition worsens, or stray verticies persist for over three days.

You've been Dr. Phil'd.

A new question, sorry for double post. Alright I know how to PMI everything from map to map but I have never duplicated before, so my question is what do I add in the additional files box just the items in the main duplicate folder or do I include the items in the fp folder as well? And for some reason, all my models are going corrupt now so I'm not sure what's wrong. Any help?

You must decrap ALL of your duplicated models.

Make CERTAIN you are extracting the [itmc] tags at first, and not the [weap] tags (this is for inserting into the map later)

When selecting new items, select ONLY the [itmc] tag for your weapon.

If you found your weapon does not have an ITMC tag, which is sometimes the case, do hax, and extract non-recursively an [itmc] file, and rename it. then Rename the filenames in the XML file and re-reference it to the appropiate location for the weapon you want it to reference.

Or, before recursively extracting, open the map in HHT, find any [itmc] tag, and swap the dependancy to your duplicated weapon. Then hex-edit the [itmc] tag's name to something different, and then recursively extract it like you normally would.

If you need more help, PM Philly until he responds to you. Once a minute should be good.

JK, if you need more help, PM me, I'd be glad to be of further assistance.

Thanks for the help, but I'll have to do this later because my computer is crappin out so I have to do a complete re-format and install.

Seriously, the computer I use is about five years old. It's a Dell something or other and is running windows XP. It doesn't even have anything fancy, like a proper graphics card or whatever it's called. Does this stop me from modding? No.

I too have an old dell, I think it's going on 6 years. The only halfway decent thing is the graphics card I bought about a year ago.

And Philly, he said nothing about his computer sucking, it was crapping out, as in not operating correctly.

This computer is 6 years old and takes about a minute to load HMT and just trying to get on the internet is hard because everything takes to long to load. And when I try to load Halo it takes like 2 minutes to load. I de-fragmented, checked every single file for viruses and checked everything else, but no matter what I do this thing will stay as slow as a slug.

Actually I'm not gonna reinstall too many important things on here I need so I just increased the paging files so now I've seen a big increase in performance. :D
