"Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherf***** tutorials on this motherf**** net!
Ok! lets be serious,
first off all thx for the tutorials on pmi but there are a few problems that i could not solve, so i would appreciate your help.
So, I tried different tutorials about pmi like:
http://www.modhalo.net/index.php?showto ... entry91193
http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/halo-1- ... ocess.html
also from youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_xnlCg3PLQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3cuqUCEiWk
most where about multiplayer maps, i last found one
http://s11.zetaboards.com/Halo_Archives/topic/139295/1/ with the same map I want to mod but it didn't work out either.
Basically, I'm trying to add a warthog on the map “The Truth and Reconciliation”
First off all as you know there is no test file in sp map where you must copy the a50.sbsp.meta file, so I copied it to “Batch Extract\levels\a50” like the tutorial above says.
It also says that when you copy the a50.sbsp.meta file to “Batch Extract\levels\a50” you should rename the file:
“With sparkedit, open up the level that you are going to rebuild. Look in the BSP tab for the name of the first BSP of the level”
In the BSP tab there is no name like a50_a.sbsp.meta, only levels\a50\a50_exterior, levels\a50\a50_muster, levels\a50\a50_hangar, levels\a50\a50_control
Anyway I tried it for another map the b40 and there was levels\b40\b40_a wtf?
Then I rebuild the map like the tutorials say but my rebuilded map file is always 6 MB smaller than the original map, and it gives a exeption in halo pc, but why?

You need to master the art of PMI'ing perfectly before trying to rebuild campaign maps. I think I made a tutorial a while back which contained a few tips about SP map rebuilds.

it must not be a pmi; i just want a warthog in the The Truth and Reconciliation map, other suggestions than pmi?
hey Philly wich post are you talking about you have about 3000

That requires you to PMI.

i think the problem is in the rebuild section, because the files that are required and the one that i add are about 46 MB but the original map is 51,5MB

Those files are non existant. Also, you only need to add one tag if you're adding a warthog. Pay more attention to the tutorials you read.

i'm exactly doing what the tutorials say, at least the ones i read! So what do you mean this files are non existent and i have to add only one tag??

Only select "warthog.vehi.meta as a new tag. Dont click all the rest.

ok i tried it with "warthog.vehi.meta" a few times, now the file is bigger than the original but halo gives exeptions anyway.
Could there be a problem with the "Required Files" ?

i tried this morning to batch extract and rebuild the map without changes, but i got an exeption.
Somewhere i make a mistake but where?
I batch extracted, then put the files "a50.vertices", "a50.indices", "a50.sbsp" in the model de crapper and de-craped it.
then copied the a50.sbsp.meta in Projekt\Build\levels\a50
the rebuild section:
changed by the "Required files" [scnr] Scenario the path to "Projekt\Build\levels\a50\a50.scnr.meta"
changed the path by [sbsp] BSP Chunk to "Projekt\Build\levels\a50\a50.sbsp.meta"
and hit the rebuild button, then the part with the "a50.vertices.new", "a50.indices.new" (they where zero bytes, probably because i didn't add a model)
but the rebuilded map was about 500 kb smaller and like i sayed it gave an exeption!!

It's a problem with the required files. Seriously, READ THE TUTORIAL, and my comment, it shows that you have to correct three files. I'm not going to help you until you help yourself.

hey,
you mean this tuorials:
http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=6928
http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=56916
http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=75020
i memorized them allready
but i get always exeptions!
could you or someone other try to spawn a warthog in “The Truth and Reconciliation” perhaps its something about the map, that must be done different.

I'd say try finding a modding site in your own language. You might understand people better.

hey, if you don't want to help that’s ok but you don't need to insult me because I can't write with a perfect English, I understand the people and the tutorials as I understand English literature and films...
back to the problem:
renamed the file a50_a.sbsp.meta
changed the "Required files" paths for [scnr] and [sbsp]
added only one tag: "warthog.vehi.meta"
had an exception!
renamed the file a50_a.sbsp.meta
changed the "Required files" paths for [scnr] and [sbsp] and
[tagc] Multiplayer scenario
added only one tag: "warthog.vehi.meta"
had an exception!
renamed the file a50_a.sbsp.meta
changed the "Required files" paths for [scnr] and [sbsp] and [tagc] Multiplayer scenario
added all files in the warthog directory
had an exception!
i also tried a few other combinations but => exception!

No, I'm being serious. You're not following one of the simple steps in the tutorial. You don't just rename the BSP to whatever, it has to be the one you start in.

renamed the file to "a50_exterior.sbsp.meta" (as in spark edit)
changed the paths for [scnr] and [sbsp]
added "warthog.vehi.meta"
=> exeption!

Kind of wrote this late at night...not thinking clearly. All steps from memory, but all should be exactly right...even if exact names aren't...
I don't care which step you understand or not. Read it all here:
Batch extract the stuff from the map you want to rebuild. Remember to included the bsp when it asks you if you want to.
Look for new stuff somewhere else...
You want the warthog? Recursively extract all tags from the vehi tag.
Go to that csv file thing under tools. save it. extract the raw model(s) in the right folders... (you'll know when you decrap them if you did it right). Warthog has one.
Go to the decrap menu. add the warthog model. add the old vertices, indices and bsp. Decrap.
Go to the folder your new bsp is in. Copy the new sbsp.meta. Go to your batch extract folder. levels\a40 (I think...depends on the map name). paste your bsp (don't rename it yet). Look for the original "a" sbsp.meta. click on the name once to highlight it. Copy the name. Delete it.
Now click on the name of the new bsp you just made (which is in the folder like I told you to paste it). "ctrl + v" to paste the name of the meta you just deleted.
That part should be right...
Go to "rebuild" under tools. Only 3 files need to be changed: scenario, bsp, and "solo_type" or whatever...it's second from the bottom.
All you need to add to the new items is the main tag AND the model. ALWAYS the model. Don't ask why, just DO it. In this case, it's the warthog mod2 and vehi tag.
Rebuild. If you were converting between CE, you've got a heck of a lot of other work to do...but from what I can see, you didn't so it should be alright.
Edit: I see something's wrong with your bsp name. fix it. for the sake of a normal campaign map, swith the multiplayer types box to what I said. "solo_types_scenario" or something like that...

Arg, what is so hard about rebuilding then? what could you possibly do to cause the whole process to exception out? and BTW Echo, I need to resend you that file, since I gave you the wrong one by accident.

Since I'm so kind, will attempt to PMI the warthog into T&R myself and send it you.
