Don't be stupid, it's the exact same, use HHK for extracting.

i didnt say i'd be getting my computer tomorrow anyways
i said if i can persuade my parents to "loan" me about $900 then i will
ok, im kinda stuck here
Click on "weapons\grunto rifle\grunto rifle" and recursively extract the metadata to the "Build" folder. When that has finished, go to: Tools>Generate raw model offset list (csv file). Save this as boardingaction.csv in the "Offsets" folder.
Now you can extract the raw models to their proper locations as normal, using the model extractor. Be sure to extract: "weapons\grunto rifle\fp\fp" as well as: "weapons\grunto rifle\grunto rifle".
so i extracted recursively the grunto_rifle to the build folder but i dont get is the tools>generate raw model offset list, would that be Tools>raw export or something else?
im using HHK waffles, unless i should be using something else >.>

You need to correct the model. To do this, open the original map you exported the gun from and find the mod2 for the weapon in the main window. Then save the meta to a folder. Similarly, export the vertices and indeces (shown at the bottom of HMT's main window [I believe it says "Save model"] when you've selected a mod2). Then, as would logically be expected, open the map you imported the gun into, find the mod2 of it, then import the meta you saved and correct the vertices and indeces (I believe it says "correct model" or something of the sort) at the menu at the bottom of the window. If this doesn't work, something else is wrong. I suggest importing the meta of the gun from the original map, and if it has new sounds or sounds that aren't in the new map, you need to save the metas from the old map of the sounds and import them into the new map you imported into.
This is for mac.
If you don't quite understand, just contact me.
Edit: Oh shit, I just saw you can't open the map with a modding program. My guess is you messed it up in some way. You're gonna have to start over.

Since I don't know anything about modding on Macs, I'm going to give you a piece of advice: use your brain. Also, didn't I state at the beginning of the tutorial that you should be happy with PMIing before you attempt duplicating?
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

no, i did the PMI, its just something wrong with the rebuilding, when i used hht it just did this weird loading bar and it just stopped, returned to normal. and i was alike wtf? ok then... then i switched to HMT moved a good copy of bloodgulch.map to the folder, chose it in hmt then it auto selects the rest of the tags then i click GO, and then it comes out with a bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map, i rename that, stick it in the maps folder, try playing it, and halo crashes, then i try to open it in HMT and it crashes also.
i know how to PMI, hell, I've done an AI map using PMI. i think i know how to PMI
