Hello halo lovers, my name is jake, and im sort of new to the halo modding community as far as giving you my input, but i have been an onlooker for the past few months. Anyway I'm sorta bored so I decided to make this thread, now I'm shure theres probablly some other sort of idea thread in this forum, but I wanted to create this one for the purpose of any idea, any at all, as far as halo modding is concerned, dosen't have to be possible. (though you might want to make it good unless you like to be flamed =P) Anywho I'll start it off with a few random ideas i had earlier today.

1. Have you ever noticed how the autumns crew members hold their M6Ds with 1 hand, but master chief dosen't, why is this? master chief is a super soldier capable of flipping 100 ton tanks, and the crewmen cry and pee their pants at the sight of the covenant. Would it be possible to swap the animations for pistol holding to mc? Would someone be willing to make some fp animations to go along with it? I would try and uptake the task myself, but my interwebs is slow so downloading is a long, slow struggle. and im not too adept at any modding anyway. but i think it would look preety sick in mp if every1 was holding their pistol with 1 hand.

2. This is the truly crazy, almost definitly impossible one.
I think i would be preety cool to have a really crazy hud skin, i mean like, really crazy, like, all sorts of stuff going on in ur hud, like little things measureing witch way ur facing wen you move (sort of like this (+), the + reprisents ur reticle and the () are things on the side of your screen that move up and down when you do, anyone whos played metal gear solid might know what im talking about) and like, stuff measuring your altitude and your corrdinates, yes, it would be totally pointless and possibly annoying, but it would look preety cool, eh?

anyway, this thread is probably gunna be an epic fail and people are gunna be all why did you make this this is stupid, but oh well. it took up 10 minutes of my boring life.

P.S. sorry for any and all grammatical errors, but im not into spell checking every 3 seconds so i just try and do enough to make it legible

i think the first one is only do-able in CE, but i could be wrong... and the second one, you would have to be uber-l33t or CE to do

no im not any sort of person that had an account before here, and now that youve said that i sorta think i shoudlnt have named myself odst, cuz like every1 uses it..... anyway thats a bummer about the pistol i would have liked to see that....... but if anyone thinks theres a way, speak up, or even try it out your self, i sorta wanted this thread to be an insperation for modders as much an interesting topic of converation. so please, if you have an idea that hasent been done a bunch of times before *cough* camo skins and h3 ARs*cough* feel free to post them here, but for sake of freaking cows who are obsessed with people not stealing their ideas, all ideas posed on this thread are open to being tried, so if you want to do it yourself or want credit in other peoples mods, dont post

I'm more mad. Yes, these are really cool ideas, but the second one seems a bit crazy.

Think about the compass on the assault rifle...

Take a look at the sniper rifle scripts and WHPI.

echoranger and bcnipod, you guys prove a good point, if things like the AR compas and the fun little doodads on the sniper move, why cant stuff in your HUD, i guess the counter on the ar is a good example too because it changes, just based on a different variable than the compass.

It moves relative to a 'local north', stored in the scenario.

interesting philly, anwyay after some fun with the old fov hacks and devtrainers, i found that the pistol animations used for crewmen and marines is too buggy to be used for master chief, the pistol faces slightly right of where your aiming, and when marines and crewmen run they lower their pistol and pump their arms, so it would look funny in multiplayer to see somone randomly firing a pistol at the round and it hitting you=P
