Got a HMT question for ya.

Lately i've been trying to make a grenade launcher type weapon. So far i've got the projectiles flying out in a beautiful arc, it's just no matter what i do, i can't seem to make the grenades explode on contact with any of the surfaces. So far everything i've tried has had either the result of the grenades hitting the ground and flying all over the place, disappearing, or sticking to the surfaces with no explosion. The only thing that's worked so far is setting the detonation timer to start immediately. Either i'm missing something really obvious, or it's impossible to make grenades explode as soon as they hit the ground... Can anyone help me out?

you have the 64 plugins for hmt right? under projectile tab, detonation time starts : after first bounce
arming time : 0
timer : 0
timer - to : 0
that works for detonation on impact frags for me, though those are travelling at 1000 units.

Yes, i have the plugins. I'll give that a try. I tried it out, and they explode on impact, only on the ground though, when i shot it at the cliffs/vehicles/bases, they still bounced off of it like crazy and vanished, they even stuck to the tires of warthogs for some reason. Gotta check a couple of things...

wait, are you firing plasmas or frags out of it? your material responses seem to be a bit off

i'm using frags... i've been messing with the mat responses to test out a couple of things, but i've put them all back the way they were supposed to be (hopefully) i probably missed a couple though...

ok, now i know i did something wrong, i followed the instructions in that tut as best as i could, but now the frags are exploding as soon as i shoot or throw them

You have the arming time and timer thing set to 0 still.

wait, are you trying to make it explode on contact or after a fixed time no matter what?

he wants to make it so that when he throws or shoots a grenade, it will fly for as long a time as you can keep it in the air, but once it hits ANYTHING, like a wall, vehicle, ground, anything like that it explodes, kinda like a rocket with gravity
the feedback i see people giving him seem to be suggesting a timed explosion or something like that, correct me if i'm wrong

Because thats how it's accomplished, it explodes .00000001 seconds after it hits something.
And this will also affect the grenades you throw. the only way around it is to duplicate the grenade tag.

ok, sig is fixed... back to the topic at hand:
Alright, i'm going to post some screens of what i have exactly. Like i said, i followed the tut exactly.
note: in the HMT screen it says after first bounce, i know the tut says immediately, with either of these selected i still have the same problem.

i havnt messed with halo for awhile but im pertty sure all you have to do is set detination timer to immediatly and set arm time and timer to 0.000001 or something like that then in every material response set the response to detonate

Do what he said with the arming time, and set it to immediatly.
