modeling\skinning question

im kinda new to modeling and i dont know how to get skins to line up with the models im making they keep over lapping. how do i find out where the pieces of the skin should be placed?

and PLEASE tell me an in-depth description of what to do

i use wings3D on a mac plz if anyone knows the answer to my problem post it!!!!

one more thing when ever i try to inject models into multiple lods it always screws up the model why????

did you read the part about in-depth! can you please tell me what uvw mapping dose and how to do it??????!!!!!

UVW Mapping does: get skins to line up with the models

I have never used Wings 3d. In 3ds max you click some menu thing...then click UVW Map. Then you just enter things for the skin to follow. like size and what not.

I don't think 3ds Max is compatible with a Macintosh, but I could be wrong.

ok i tried the uvw mapping lined every thing up loaded it in to the map and it still didn't work.....

are there any other apps for mac that can uvw map things better than wings3d?

3ds Max isn't free. Last time I checked, it was about $3,000.

can somone give me a tutorial or link to about uvw mapping on wings3D?
mabey theres something i missed but i cant find out what
is there any thing you have to do to it after uvw map to get it to work??
