Seek failed on an unnamed file

Post by Philly »

Now, I know that I can open a rebuilt Assault on the Control Room, because I have done it before. All you have to do is use conure's 'string fixer' before opening the map. This no longer works, it seems. Here's a picture if it helps:

make sure you dont have the same file opened in any other program, such as HMT.

Im surprised that didn't work, usually that message means that another program is using the same file.

Check your procceses to make sure nothing is running that might be using it, alot of times (for me at least) HMT continued to run even after I closed it. Also make sure you dont have it in anything else, like conure's string corrector, or eschaton, etc. etc.

No. I do know how to open map files in SparkEdit, and if Halo was open, it would say 'File not found' rather than the above message. Thanks anyway guys. :D

That is sparkedit's "file not found" message. Thats why I assumed you had another program open, but since you're positive you don't, that cant be it.

It can still open other maps right? It's just b40.map that can't open?

Quite right. It's just the modified, rebuilt b40.map.
