Annoying lens flare thingys

Yes, I am back with a question, which I have never really thought about asking. It happens whenever I play Halo, with whatever settings I use. The problem is this: certain lens flares are not 'shadowed'. What I mean is that a bitmap will show 'through' an object, instead of being blocked, which is more realistic. This picture may help explain what I mean:

I would imagine that the problem is that my graphics card is not good enough. I have solved the one on the plasma pistol by nulling out the bitmap, though I am sure this is not the way to go. any help would be appreciated.

Something like that happened to me on my old PC. I don't remember if it happened with the plasma pistol, but i do specifically remember that the chip keyes hands you with cortana on it in the first level glowed through MC's hand.
Doesn't happen on my new PC, it must be something to do with the card or the drivers.
What's your card?

No idea. Know how I could find out?

I think it is caused by dynamic lighting being enabled. I have noticed that too, I modded all my maps so dynamic light was enabled for everything, and now that happens to me too.

Wrong.
Well it was a guess, it only started to happen after I enabled Dynamic Lighting on all things in the maps.

Well, it happens even when dynamic lighting is disabled. Thanks for the idea though.

I remember ages ago, when I was playing Halo on my dad's old laptop it would do that. I don't think I've seen that happen on any other computer. My dad had a radeon 9200 or 9100 or something like that. I think it may be because it only supported shader 1.1, which was kinda screwy with Halo. What graphics card do you have?

To find out your card, go to start; run; "dxdiag" no quotes.
When it brings it up hit the display tab and look under "device".
That will tell you the model/series of your card, memory, resolution, and
monitor.
List the memory and model/series type here and I can probably tell you if your card is too low or not, or has a compatibility issue..
Also, once I know the model/maker of the card, I will probably direct you to download/update your video card drivers; which could very well be the problem.

Is this some kind of nerd joke? Because I can't see anything funny...
Anyway, somebody please tell me whether or not it's the graphics card.

its not, ive seen the same effect on SLI'd 8800 ultras, so dont go splurge money on a new card to see if it will go away
