Assault on the Control Room Assistance

For some reason, whenever I look at a certain texture in game, the game will lag for a minute and then cover the screen with a random bitmap, such as the needler multipurpose.
This makes it really hard to play, so I was wondering if someone could figure out which texture it is so I can swap it with something that works.

I've already tried reinstalling - twice. I have also reinstalled graphics drivers. I have tried the level updates and unupdated. (1.07)

The screwed up textures are in bands in some of the tunnels, such as the first one you go into at the beginning of the level.
The hallway leading to the control center is covered with a broken texture as well.
It may be multiple textures, I don't know.

-Thanks

It turns out the problem is glass of some kind. Does anyone know which tag it is?

Aha! It was an sgla problem. I nulled out "[bitm] - tech dense circuits bump" in b40_ctrlglass and b40_ctrlglassb and fixed the problem.

I just don't see why this texture made such a problem.

Don't post bitmaps.

That was a jpeg, or do you mean bitmaps from the game?

what gfx card you have? also do you have enough memory to have reflection in the glass? that might be why it's lagging.

It worked on my old PC. My new PC has a 3.0 Ghz dual core processor, 4 gigs of RAM, and a GeForce 8800 GTS - I think I have the power.

Also, it doesn't lag per se, it kinda freezes for 10 seconds, then is as un-laggy as ever, just with screwed up graphics. Before it completely broke the game didn't freeze, but the glass looked all static-y.

I think nVidia's drivers might be causing a problem or something.

then remove them and reinstall. That solved my problem with OpenGL bitmaps corruption in games, but then halo is D3D. Anyways just try and see if it might work.

I had completely uninstalled and reinstalled Halo twice, as well as graphics drivers. :?
