Don't use Wings. It is officially ghey.
Please use misfit modeller; it is much easier to use and gives better results. Remember to uncheck 'save normals' when saving.
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

Ok, here's what I do.

Clearly 3ds Max is the main tool to use, seeing as it contains alot of help and resources, even in the CE tutorials. Unfortunately, 3ds Max, only supports Windows.

So get windows.

I am using a new aluminum iMac, and with it, I have installed Windows XP SP2 with bootcamp. I now have 3ds Max, Maya, Crysis and of course, halo, all running through Windows on my Mac.

If (for a certain reason) you can't do Bootcamp, consider "Parallels".

also don't buy vista. it still have support problems with some useful halo modding programs. if modeling pc use mistfit 3d it has all the basic tools you need and when you decide to go to ce, get 3ds if you can. gmax is a good subsitute.

For a more basic model use misfit, but if your completely re doing the model use 3ds max. (like making it into a whole new gun. BLa bla bla.)
