Help with Multi purpose textures!!!

Ya i just started skinning and im trying to figure out how to make multipurpose textures for overlays of my weapons ive been skinning. can any1 help me out here, im using photoshop cs3!

Extract the texture and follow these rules when editing:

Red: Detail
Green: Glow
Blue: Shine
Alpha: Colour change

Teal: Ugly Shine.

I can't help you, you're a noob. No, not really, I wouldn't say that.

Ahem, right. Well, you just open up the texture in photoshop and skin it. Look for Pepsi's tutorial, he has a lot of information on multipurpose maps. Good look. :)

im only noob at skinning, ive been playing over 3 years. can u plz explain or link me to a thread.

No, in this case I would say go directly to the TUTORIALS section.

Pepsi's Tut, next time use the Search button or go right to the Tutorials.
