Altering the Difficulty Settings

According to Halo Wiki (http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/), each difficulty setting both increases the effectiveness of the Covenant, and decreases the effectiveness of your Marines. Would it be possible to alter the difficulty settings to have both sides be as effective as they can be? I'm kinda tired of having all my marine buddies die by about 20 seconds into the fight.

BTW, I've never modded anything in my life, so a very basic, step-by-step kind of walkthrough would be tremendously helpful. :)

I've wondered that too :shock:.

You could edit the marine's AI.

I think this is something to do with the globals. Ask conure or Altimit, they'll know.

Does it have to do with the mod, or is it part of a singal script? or something like this?

How can I edit it? And what values should I look for?

I contacted conure, as Philly suggested, and they guided me to the Eschaton program and which files to edit, along with which specific parts to look at.

Some new problems emerge, however. While I can deduce the meaning of some of the values (easy friend vitality controls the health of your allies on Easy difficulty), the meaning of others eludes me (friend recharge? burst error? chance scale?).

Also, it seems that what I had thought was the problem, that being allies getting weaker while enemies got stronger, isn't the case. In all values, the enemies and your allies are the same (hard enemy damage = 1.4, and so does hard friend damage).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Seriously. Get out of here if you dont think we know about CE scripting...No, youre not the first person to know how to script. There is no script that is

Code: Select all

(script continuous makeemstrong
(Player (Alies (Health (100))))
)
Listen here. You arent nearly as smart as some people here. You are just acting cocky. Now go learn how to mod PC before you go to fucking CE. Why i say this is you OBVIOUSLY dont know what your talking about. PC, or CE.

Is the only thing you idiots gonna do is piss on this guy and not help the other guy? As for your problem. I suggest leaving them alone for now unless you notice problems.
