Permenantly modded...

I followed this tutorial
http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=31612
Brilliant one BTW.
I backed up my maps, stored them in a folder in my documents. I then did the tutorial and modded the actuall bloodgulch map. Worked great but now I can't get the non-modded bloodgulch back.
I'v deleted the modded map and put in the original, but it's still modded.
I'v used a map reinstalation program, and reinstalled all maps, but it's still modded.
I'v even uninstalled the entire game, and got rid of HMT, reinstalled the game, but bloodgulch is STILL modded.
I'm now thinking about reinstalling vista lol.
Can someone please help me. Thanks

Honestly, I do think it is vista, the same thing happened to my friend. He ended up reformatting, luckily he had to do it anyways because it was running slow.

Well, i think that makes sense. I do have xp, but i use vista bcuz i play halo 2 as well. And ye, I know theres a crack 4 halo 2 on xp, but you don't get a couple of the good maps like district. But I think i'll make the switch, thanks.

No problem, and you could always look into Dual booting somehow.

Actually I'm already dual booting. I use an iMac, so I have OS X and Windows. I've looked into triple booting lol, but it's very difficult.

Just run everything as a admin.

maybe you could go into more detail about your suggestion. But i'm not bothered, i'v reinstalled with xp now, and the modding problem is solved. Thanks

Uninstall Halo
Open up HMT and go to open.
Then find where you keep your maps. (I did the reg. map folder)
Only the ones that are permanently modded should be there.
Delete them. They shouldn't be there anyway.
Reinstall halo.
Voila!
NOTE: Do this every time you want to restore your maps or certain ones.

I had a similar problem recently.
I modded a gephy map and then even though I removed it from my maps folder it would still show up in the list of maps available when I ran Halo.
I cured it by right clicking on the Halo icon, going to properties and then turning on "run this program as an adminstrator" in the compatability tab.
Dunno if this is the right way to cure it but it did.
Cheers

I agree, this has a happened to me a number of times. Its like when you mod it and the later replace it with th backup its still there. Honestly all I did was wait and it started to work again.

Its not vista's fault. Just run everything as an administrator.

It also keeps other people from deleting system files without your permission.

wow, i can't believe this topic was bumped from page 3. Well I'm actually thinking about (once again) switching back to vista.
People say its got greater graphical ability, but theres so many things that arn't quite ready for it.
I'm not sure, at least i can go back and still mod.

Don't go back to Vista. It is lacking. Xp is better. That is saying something coming from me, a mac user.

lol that comming from a mac user must mean Vista is better and you want xp users to suffer

Aslong as you have a nVidia 6+ video card, and 2 gb ram, vista should run the same as XP, or in CabooseJr's case, with 3 gb, it runs games faster. At least thats what he says.

I have an
ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO
Doesn't that sound sexy lol.
Unfortunatly, unlike pc's, buying ram for the imac, is pretty expenssive. I've got 1gb just now (could kick it up to 4gb). If I did, i'd go back to vista for sure.

That happened to me with my bitmaps.map & I had to re-install it like 2x because of that.
