By ripping apart and editing halo's main engine, is it possible to support a much smarter AI and real Ragdoll physics? uhhh, NVM on the AI, i just finished that...

there is no way to expand the abilities of an engine by doing tagging. you actually have to edit the engine itself. doing what you say would be like trying to make a car that can only up to 160 km per hour go 220 by giving it new parts but no new engine.Jackle001 wrote:Halo will likely become freeware a game at a time. Halo 1 will become freeware when the next Halo game comes out, Halo 2 will become freeware when the next game in the next Halo series comes out, etc.
That's my guess.
Anyway, I can't wait to rip Halo 1 apart and edit the engine. We'll add ragdoll, ACTUAL good AI, and more stuff! =D
Anyway... I call tagging the physics for Halo CE! =P I'll try and find a way to get them into Halo 1, then I'll extract the tags using HEK+. If that doesn't work, I'll resort to tagging them normally. D=
it can be done.........the engines not the big part its the transmisionbcnipod wrote:there is no way to expand the abilities of an engine by doing tagging. you actually have to edit the engine itself. doing what you say would be like trying to make a car that can only up to 160 km per hour go 220 by giving it new parts but no new engine.Jackle001 wrote:Halo will likely become freeware a game at a time.
