I have the halo trial program files on my flash drive and i take it with me to play on other computers. I also have hmt on the drive. but when i try to open a .map file, an error window pops up saying: File not found

i think this might be because the program is looking for a halo trial registry file in the WINDOWS folder on the C:\ drive. Can some one make a fix for this? Or if one already exists, plese point me to it with a link.THANK YOU!!!

Trial + HMT = problems. Look into finding THMT (trial HMT). HMT shouldn't be looking in the C:\ directory for files if you directed it to towards a file in another directory. From what I remember of the 3.1 source it doesn't.

ugh...

no no no...

when i select the bloodgulch map file in my flash drive, it also looks for the registry file that verifies that halo is installed besides the map file. And, HMT was originally for trial version! i have tried opening a custum edition map with it and it wont work with any other version exept trial

HMT was made for halopc.

All HMT does is accept a file from an open file dialog and work off of that. It doesn't go digging for registry files (unless the basic open file dialog does that but then that'd be a windows/.net problem). And no, HMT was not made for trial version. There's a reason THMT even exists.

Alright then, if you dont belive me then get halo trial, install it and then copy the program files into a flashdrive and the take it to a computer that has never seen halo trial or any other halo and try to open a map file in HMT then see what happens and reply.
