jk that tutorial doesnt help him.
Download phenomena's 64 Plugin pack, select the plasma weapon, scroll down to projectile, select 0, and then look for these two
Something that looks like "Heat Generated"=How much the weapon heats every shot, when it reaches 1 it overheats
Theres another one that will say something relating to amount of battery per shot, change that one to 0. Infinite Ammo Accomplished.
Is it really that hard to type that out guys? It took me 12 seconds, it's not that hard.

How? It's the same process for all weapons with the exception that plasma weapons overheat, which isn't part of his question.

All that one helped with is weapons that use ammo, he was asking about plasma weapons, for those you need to edit the battery life stuff.
Not trying to be an a** or anything, at all. What you posted was a lot more helpful then the other people just saying "use the search button"
I really dont understand people, this is supposed to be a modding community. Help people out with stuff, instead of sitting high on your throne and telling them to use the search button in every topic. It's not that hard to be decent to somebody, really, trust me on this one. Everyone in this thread has had to ask someone for help with something at one point, it's not that hard to foward the favor to someone else.

It's there for a reason.

Yes, it's there as a tool that people can and absolutely should use, but if you know exactly how to answer the person's question, instead of wasting the poster's time and your own time saying "use the search n00b" (exageration), Just take the 15 seconds to say how to do it. If your just going to post "use the search button", dont waste your time posting it and everyone else's time reading it. Either ignore the topic or post something worthwhile.

that tut does the same thing. the weapon overheats, but so what. he did not ask about that.

I don't think you get my point.
When people ask questions in the modding discussion, they are usually very vague. Too vague, in fact. If someone posts saying,
"How do you make the assault rifle rifle shoot rockets?"
Then there isn't much room for help. If you tell them to swap a dependancy, they will ask what a dependancy is. You tell them that it is what HHT uses. Then they ask you what HHT is, and you end up giving them a full Halo modding tutorial, of which there are already loads of in the tutorials section.
*Sigh*
Sorry if I sound rude or mean, and this isn't directed at anyone, but the best way to learn is by doing things yourself.

no, no, no. I get what you are saying, and why you said it. I was just saying that the tut did solve the problem that he was asking.

Bcnipod,
no, it didn't.
DeadHamster wrote:All that one helped with is weapons that use ammo, he was asking about plasma weapons, for those you need to edit the battery life stuff.
Plasma weapons do not use ammo, they use a battery, that tutorial did not provide any information on editing battery lifes, it only told people how to make weapons that used ammo have inf. ammo.
And yes, some people are too vague Philly, however "Alright 1 newbish question how do i make a plasma weapon have unlimited?", it's pretty obvious what he wanted, even if his english isn't so hot. In other cases people do post way too vague of a request.
And also yes, the best way to learn is to do it yourself, but at the same time I know that more than once I've sat around messing with HMT and XML's and anything else I could get my hands on for hours before I gave up and asked for help, and then got my answer. You can't be sure these people haven't been trying to solve this and simply cant do it. I'm not trying to attack you or anything, please dont take this the wrong way. I have respect for you, you've done quite a bit and taught me a few things (
Philly's Duplicating Method, EOF Trick, along with a couple things I dont remember...)
