hey again, rite i will try to help you as much as i can,
one question are you trying to make a new skin for the rifle, or a multipupose for shaders?...
first of all start fresh (get the old bitmaps.map from cd or a back up and put it in your maps directory)
now i saw in your screen shot that you made the file 1024 x 1024, i'm not too sure about the pixel size so for now i would back up the skin you want to inject and make a copy sized 512 x 512
now in HMT go to the [Bitm] tag and scroll to"weapons\assault rifle\fp\bitmaps\assault rifle_fp"
inject your texture.... but it must be a .dds file with the DXT 1 format for the AR skin, a notice should come up asking if you want to resize it click yes, dont worry if it doesnt, it should say that the process was sucsesfull.
thats all, go in game or on spark edit to check the new skin and it should be fine.
i wouldnt worry about the multipurose too much, if it has two smaller pics of your new texture above it, i wouldnt worry about that either.
i would also recommend getting the improved multipupose pack, available here
