Well, just then I was on Bungie.net, and saw *shock horror amazement* that in Halo 2, Jackals can carry plasma rifles as well as plasma pistols.

Now, assuming I was to start a SP Halo 2 mod, if I swapped "jackal major.actv.meta" with "elite minor plasma rifle.actv.meta", would he still behave with some semblance of a Jackal, but carry a plasma rifle? Also what's this "Weapon user ability #" thingy in 3.5? Would I just need to change that?

no dude, that'd make him act like an elite, not a jackal. change the plasma rifle weapon user ability to that of the plasma pistol, and swap the two arount if you want them to carry pr's

Just use HHT and swap the Jackal's weapon dependency so it carries a plasma rifle. And change the user ability.

Infact, he would have the Elites biped too. Just go to the jackal actor
varient and swap the Plasma Pistol Weapon dependency for Plasma Rifle.

i always confuse myself switching actor variants i was trying to make marines do w/e i do by swapping their actor variant with mc but then they stood straight with their arms out and wen i killed them they deformed in2 wierd shapes like their face would droop and so would their body. the funiest drooping experience was when i killed that marine with the scar on his face and his mouth drooped all the way down to the ground lol

The MC ACTRV is a player spot. So don't be suprized if he did what he did. Do you know when you die the mc falls, then ajusts to the elivation and stuff? Well thats what the wird dooping thing is. They can't fall, so all the lims and stuff fall insted.

lol thats pretty funny i didnt understand it at first. but why would they act like they are falling if i just kill them on the ground?

yea, especially for bitmap swaps. just do it, its better.

you can just switch the weapons... then change the dependency unless someone already said that

Jackals which can carry all Covenant weapons, except the Fuel Rod Gun and Brute weapon.

andd now the needler is a weapon actually worth picking up

and yeah, just swap the dependancy. superior to offset/meta swapping.
