Attention New Modders!

Rules on basic forum use: (and im being nice)

Please! use the search button, it really isnt hard, if you have a problem e.g. move spawn points, type something like, spawn points conversion into search, or something similar.

what im getting at is DON'T post something that has been posted many times before.

Please use informative subjects, e.g. OMFG NEED HELP!!!!!! should be changed to, Need help on XML (or something like that) anyways, you get the picture. also, do not label your subject with capitals.

Please use the right forum! Sparkedit problems should go to the sparkedit forum, HMT to the HMT forum etc.

when posting in files.halomods.com

When posting a mod, please check if its been done before, this includes, sp --> MP conversions, skins, log-mods, platform-mods

PLEASE!! post pictures with your mods

PLEASE!! no log mods! platform mods are also getting boring, and also, make sure you have done more than moving spawn points when you make an sp-->MP conversion.

TIP: IF you want a mod to succeed, spend time with it, anything that is just a straight conversion, or a simple log-mod (a mod containing logs as platforms, or to add extra areas) will not be well-Recieved!

Do something original! original mods are loved by this community!

TIP:learn hex editing first, this is not a must, but it is easier to get into more experienced modding from there. Once this has been learnt, you will be able to UNDERSTAND halo modidng, not just doing it. although life has been made easier with HMT HHT HHHT and Sparkedit, does not mean you have to use it all the time, questions about Hex editing will probably be preferred than the generic, "NEED HELP WITH HMT MAP REBUILDING" type subjects.

if you are being called a n00b in your post it is probably becuase of you not following these rules.

Thank you!

Im sorry if this is a repost, but i think it contains all the information for new modders to stop aggrivating the l337 modders!

lol, if they are lazy enough to post without searching, they are too lazy to read the forum rules....so, your post just became useless...

hrm, maybe i should change the title to, OMFG I JUST FOUND SOMETHING SO AMAZING!!!! or NEW HALO2 SCREENSHOTS but i posted it here because many people dont read stickies, and if they see a post with a lot of replies (hopefully!) then they will read it! its sort of forum nature, read the one with the most replies, its GOTTA be interesting!

A few things.

There will always be newbs. Doing what they do is and getting flamed is how they become better members

People who tell newbs to use the search are just spammers, the search sucks, it is better to read past pages.

Skarclaw, the search doesn't suck. You just don't use it effectively enough.
