I wanna make the Lifepod more useable...
Like really carrying passengers and such.
It would be a nice addition.
You would have one Pilot, and more people passengers.
You can crash on the enemy surface and such.
Maybe a Pelican could drop a Lifepod?
Anyone wanna help a bit making this happen?

I'm working on POD Gulch, so I've seen all the different Lifepod vehicles. So, unless someone can add seats to it, it's not going to be possible to carry any more than 2 people, including the pilot.

well, I was the original Lifepod guy, so I will help... but anyway, I dont really think we'd be able to add seats... Im sure its possoble, but when you figure it out, tell me

even if it only carried two ppl, it would still be useful to quickly drop in, steal the flag, and run like hell....assuming you can take off after you "crash"

I believe that it is possible but i have no idea how. In Mono's 3.5 readme it says something about adding blank meta and giving a vehicle extra seats. I have absolutley not the faintest idea how to do that, but i think it is possible

well... i got an idea.. basicly it puts in blank space (e.g.: one more spot to put sumting in.) and if u copy a seat, rename it, and swap it into the blank spot, and edit the dependencies that tell it where it is, u should get another seat into ur lifepod... but of course i could be wrong..

Well, the collision model for the Lifepod is EXTREMELY FUCKED UP. Really badly... you can fly right out of BG through the walls with ease.

Mine doesn't even fly.

Even though I changed all seat I.D's to W-Driver

Same with my Covie Dropship, even though I nulled out the AI

The only solution I see is this:

extract the pelican, and the lifeboat.

rebuild the map.

take away some of the seats of the pelican.

then go into hht and swap the model for the lifeboat, and the animations.

then go into Hex and make a collosion model.

Okay, but my main point is, that you can actually be dropped off, and also crash...
I always had this idea:
One team on the PoA (a small part)
And another one on the surface.
The PoA crew can use LifePods and Pelicans to drop to the surface and such...
That would be awesome...
Anyway, I'm going to try some stuff with the LifePod.
For example, it would be stupid to let the LifePod fly like the Banshee, so I'm trying to let it fly only downspin, and a limited steering.

i think i once overhead some guys talking about seats on IRC (you might know who you are ) Something about duplicating the seat "chunks", updating chunk counts, and recalculating offsets

i didnt really pay much attention at the time... i suppose SOME people could add seats to the lifepod, just most of them are too busy all the time... maybe you can figure it out?

Yeah, I thought about adding chunks...
I'm going to try it, as soon as I get my first test ready.

lol I once had a dream about a LifePod.
I was playin' Halo, and was on the surface(looked Halo(level)-ish)
And a Pilot gets in, yells at me to get in before Covenant troops arrive, and the next thing I knew, MC and some Marines were flying back to the PoA in a LifePod...
