Ok. i have a great mod idea ive been working on for around a week now. It involves turning off the sun. I am using HMT v3.5 to try and make everything in blood gultch pitch black. yes pitch black. But under the light, light volume and even in sky tab (and the metas) have nothing that refers to the maps global light. How do i make everything dark so that you have to use your flashlight and other items to see?

if im right, you'd have to skin everything black. this mod doesn't sound like it would be worth the time u would have to spend.

wow if i werent incredibly lazy i would do that but would this work instead.

PMI some fog from (the level from where you first encounter the flood) and also pmi the sky and all that fun. Could that work?

are you fucking joking me -_-

you only have to edit the lightmaps, (there bitmaps, bloodgulch only has like 13 of them), the lightmaps file name is levels\test\bloodgulch\bloodgulch

I did a mod where I darkened the the levels/test/bloodgulch bitmap. It made the whole outside dark, but the sun still casted shadows over the level. bitmaps is not just the only thing- there is something else you need to fix- something involving the shadows.

He may be a copy cat but he is right, the shadows (light levels, ect) are controlled in the bitmaps. You want to make it perfect? make some new light maps in CE, otherwise learn to edit them with brightness/contrast.

I did change the brightness/contrast, but now I have a level that's dark...and there are still shadows!
