Error when HaloPC updates

I recently am finally uploading HaloPC to my Vista computer. However, when I hit multiplayer and it says checking for updates, it comes up with an error message that says, "You must have administrator privleges to download this patch." What drives me insane is that, the name on Vista that I am using is the adminstrator name. Any suggestions?
1. I tried disabling the Windows Firewall. Still didnt work.
2. Disabled all my anti-virus and spyware programs and still didnt work.

1. How many user accounts are there on the computer? If there's only one, I have no idea what's going on. If there's more than one:
2.Go to control panel
3. Go to user accounts
4. Find yours and see if it says "limited account" under it. If it's limited, then you'll have to get on the admin account and change yours to administrator.

Thanks for the help bro, but no dice. The account I am on is the original account created and is the Adminstrator account.

Hmm IDK. Maybe it's just, Vista is being stupid. Here's what to do:
1.Brush your teeth
2. Comb and gel your hair
3. Eat a breath mint
4. Put on a nice suit
5. Have a fancy dinner at a nice resturaunt
6. Get a good night's sleep
7. And then when you wake up,
8. Wait for Windows Vista SP2.
yes I know that was pretty random but seriously either wait for SP2 or contact bungie or microsoft.

Right click on Halo.exe or the shortcut to it and click "Run as administrator". That should solve your problem.

If what Locke said doesn't work this could be another solution -->
http://www.microsoft.com/games/halo/downloads.aspx There's game update hotfixes and it has a mini-installation guide.

Zing! Thanks Locke. I take back all the things I said about ya.
Also, do Sparkedit, HMT, etc., do they all work on Vista?

No clue, I don't have vista. Why not try it out and tell us if it works.

Look in the folder with halo.
If the halo update isn't already in there, which I'm pretty sure it was for me, and I'm using Vista, download it from here:
http://www.freewebs.com/lg77/haloupdate.exe
I uploaded it for you.

Gray, I already solved my issue but thanks anyway.
Locke, I have searched but cannot find an updated HMT 3.5 download?
