I modded my first map. If I host a game, will others see it?

I know that with my modded map (just some graphic changes) in multi-player, others cannot see it. But what if I host a game, then will others see it? If not, how can I make it so others do?

the game should check to see if the maps are the same, and if not it makes the map into a .ppf and you temperaroly uses it befor it is deleted.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a related question. Yesterday I joined a modded game that had weightless vehicles (basically, I can shoot a hog with a shotgun and it will clear the level bloodgulch). How is this possible, as I did not have a patch (.ppf) for it?

I sounds like it was some kinda gun force mod where the guy just add more force to the shootgun, or if it is indeed waitless vehicles its in phisics
just lower the wait to 0
and you dont need the same moded map for that kind of mod :)

If he changed some options, you won't have to download the mod.

Yea, theres some things that you won't need to Download a mod for. Bitmaps changes will require a PPF to see, etc., but some things like projectile damage/speed, etc. won't. It's just one of those odd things...

the only time the players requre a .ppf is if you swap offsets. kinda like switching name tags. whemn there comp is told to get a tank bulet it goes to the thing with the name tag called tank bullet. if you switch the tags it gets onther thing. when another comp gets the thing it will be a tank bulrt still becouse the name tag is the same

modded comp
1)is told to get pistol bullet
2)finds the name tag pistol bullet
3)pulls out the model and meta linked to the name tag pistol bullet,( the tank bullet)
4)puts that into game

un modded comp
1)is told to get pistol bullet
2)finds the name tag pistol bullet
3)pulls out the model and meta linked to the name tag pistol bullet( the pistol bullet)
4)puts that into game

so even thought both comps gets the model linked to the tag pistol bullet they get two different things.

same thing works for skins and shaders.

hope that helps

no, you can use ppfs for bitmaps as well.

I think I understand that part. For instance, I modded my machine gun hog to fire rockets instead of bullets (sounds bad-ass with the klipsh system by the way, lots of earthquaking going on), however the other players only see regular bullets because their map file is calling whatever offset it has, and mine is calling what I told it to call.

Lets say I mod BloodGulch to increase the speed of hogs to '.999'. If I join a MP game, I get serious lag problems as the hog trys to go fast and slow at the same time (I guess trying to match other players as not to cheat?).

Now if I host a game, will others be able to go the .999 speed, or no? Or atleast see me going fast? I would have a friend join a MP game, but they're just not into it, and waiting for someone to join my game on the net takes forever. Thanks in advance.
