Ice texture

hey iv reskinned sidewinder but theres a lcy texture all over the ground and the walls anyway to remove or replace this also when i look at the cliff walls from a distance the old texture is there when i get closer its my new one anyway to stop this?

the icy look on the walls is a bump map. open the envirement shaders in HHT and null out anything related too the icy part of the level. and the textures changing back is the base map of the level. the base map looks like a overhead shot of icefields youlll have too go in and change taht.

ya have too have photo shop and you download some plugins that allow you to edit and save bitmaps.. sorta like how modeling it with milkshape

unfortuneatly you must be rich or a pirate, like myself too get photoshop

I have gimp shop and i use the DXTbmp but how do i get the skin of the map to modifie it

1.open hmt
2.go to "bitmaps" tag
3.select a bitmap.
4. hit save or export texture (i cant remeber exactly what the button says)
5.it will save as a .dds
6.open what ever program you have too edit the .dds (where do you get gimp plugins link plz photo shop is way too hard)
7.then edit it and export it out of the gimp or whatever.
8.back to hmt
9.on the same texture you exported hit the "inject texture" button and it wil ask you for the file.
10.select your modifyed texture and it will import
11.your done.

the base map?
its a texture listed in bitmaps... just look for it youll see a texture that looks like a overview of the map. thats it.

most levels bitmaps for example are "levels\test\bloodgulch\bloodground," and levels\test\bloodgulch\bloodcliff" or something similar.

yea... when i do it in HEK i call it something like "why the fuck are you messing with my base maps" so when people rip my stuff (which i really dont mind) they get a little suprise like that.

so i dont really know what the "original names" are.
