Team Based AI

Im sorry that i have too post this question...
How do i get Ai in a MP map to not freindly fire me... (stupid marines

)
I searched a while but all the links are broken so could someone explain too me how i get marines too base on team 0 or team 1. (0 = red 1= blue i think)

maybe make their team match urs (player?)
idk its somewhere in the bpd section i think...maybe
it should have lots of teams liek grunt flood marine etc

uhhh ... that was the first thing i tried and it didnt work...
and index.. your either spaming or trying too help.. i dont know... but thats almost the same anwser i got last time and i need a specific link to a page or a tut becasue im way WAY too busy to search right now sorry...

You dont need to register to access the downloads and the tutorials.

Yes! I know this one! Well sorta. You can't use Halo PC alone. This actually involves converting a Halo PC map into a CE map. Using sapien you can do things like assign teams. How exactly? Haven't gotten that far. I've never been able to successfully get it to work right. I checked the sites and the tutorials, but the tuts have a lot of holes in them and aren't very newb friendly. Not very good at getting you from A to B. But I'll see if I can find the one I was using anyway. But yes, you need Halo CE to have team AI.

Ok while this is bumped let me tell you something... i already figured it out on my own lol so there you go.

(try not too bump ive got in alot of trouble with that in the past)

oops. lol. well since it was only a few days old and still on the first page, i thought i might try to through in my two cents. lol. so u figured it out? nice! so since i really don't know the full scoop myself, mind letting me know what you found?

well... im just makeing the scenerio in HEK and adding the team indexs 1 and 0 too the bipeds and then pmi'ing the scenerio with the bipeds into HPC.
its not as complicated as it sounds once you figured it out

Which I think takes a lot of talent. I still haven't found a decent tutorial telling you how to convert maps from HPC to HCE and then back to HPC. They always go super tech on me and half the time i just cant understand what they're talking about

Open your CE map in a HEX editor, on the first line find "61 02" and change it too "07 00."
Then on the third line (might be on a different line in another HEX editor) find "36 30 39" and change it to "35 36 34."
Note: You can't play the map you can only edit things in HMT and extract stuff(non recrusively).

Thanx inferno! Although, cocaine, i'm not sure about the hex thing. What happens when you change those numbers? I mean, I guess I would want the map to be playable once I was finished with it rather than just moddable. I've got this really awesome map that someone else made in regards to team AI (Marines vs. Covenant), and respawning of course. Now if I could only start from scratch and come up with the same map only add blue-beam sentinels to one team and red-beam to the other to aid the other AI on the map. Yea that would rock

One your done the hexing you extract the scenario and rebuild with that.
If you want to convert a map that isn't already on PC then you need to convert it to scenery.

wait... why do you change the 36 30 39 to a 35 36 34. ive never done that line before...
by the way is there a way too make the recrusive work cause extracting new vehicles and weapons is a pain in the ass without it...

If you open up a PC map the 35 36 34 is there, I don't know why the tutorial I had said to do it like that.

lol i just change the 61 02 and it works fine. i guess it dosent make a difference. well thats good cause i was worried their for a second.
