How do I convert the POA into a scenery tag?

in HMT change it to [scen] [obje] [yyyy] and there you have it, a scenery tag

Oh my god... That should not be considered a double post because it was up for about two days. I don't beleive that the POA has a tag. It is BSP. If you find out otherwise, let me know.

Oh my god, read the rules, minimum bumpage time is 5 days.

as for converting a BSP to scenery, its possible but really advanced and i dont knwo how its done

I know, I was arctrooper66, but in the files forum people know me as sharpshot2492. So that is why I changed it. I now changed my avatar and why is it gone now?

Well even though this has gotten way off topic now that i know what POA is i think i have an anwser. :P

I read somewhere (www.halopc.net) you can convert halo ce maps into PC scenery. i suggest trying this:

- Get a CE version of halo campain this is availble somewhere .. there was a link on the halomods home page a while ago.

- Extract it or something but you need too get the map in 3ds max. (you can do this with sparkedit but i know there is a better way too do it.

- Export this too a .jms with blitzkreig plugins and using tool make the .jms file into a scenery object

- Using this create in HEK all of the shaders bitmaps tags and stuff an. (make sure any bitmaps you use are in halo pc dont make new ones or it wont work.)

- build a map (doesnt matter what map) with the scenery of POA in it.

- compile it

- Now open a hex editing program.

- Open up your CE map you created with the scenery in it.

- Now at the top line there should be a 8 number hex that is 61 02 00 00 change it too 07 00 00 00.

- Save in hex and close it.

- Open up HMT and open the map you just hexed (yes it will open)

- Now your scenery. Unfortuneatly even though the hex code allows you too open the map in hmt it doesnt allow recrusive extraction... so you will have too extract EVERY tag that has any dependencies with the scenery object. and yes that may take a while. And too make sure you dont miss any open the map in hht too check dependencys.

- Once you have all of that exported extract raw models.

- Now you can go about the pmi as normally

- Hopefully your map will work. :wink:

Ive have not attempted this yet (mostly because my computer was attacked by a trojan and my HMT doesnt work properly anymore so i cant pmi :x ) but im about 95% sure this will work. I'd test this before you do all that work so try it on something small like a tree from the ce bloodgulch as a tester.

Hope that tut wasnt too complicated, vauge, or too much work for anyone too even attempt :roll: hope it helps!
