well, if u're really new, you will wanna use milkshape, and the models are gotten with HMT3, under PC Models,

ok start with the warthog, open bloodgulch (C:/program files/microsoft games/halo/maps/bloodgulch.map) click the + by pc models a find vehicles/warthog, click on it, and click hull (0), click save, and save to desktop with the name it gives you (hull (0) XXXXvertices XXXXindices)
now go into milkshape, file: import: wavefront obj and find the file you just saved out of hmt
its there now, and press f1, and near the bottom, on the right bar, there are some check boxes, clikc the one that says 'vertex' now drag ur mouse over like 2 vertexes, and press f2, then drag them somewhere else, now right click on the box you just moved them in, and click the opposite of what it is (right-left up-down etc.) and press f1 again, and do the exact same thing on this side of the model, when you are done, go to file: export : wavefront obj, and get to ur desktop, and save over the one that you just saved from hmt, should be hull (0) XXXX vert. XXXX indices now close milkshape, and open up hmt3 and go to the same place, (pc models: vehicles:warthog) and click on hull (0) again, and inject, now find your model on the desktop, and click on it and open in the little window, now click the save button on HMT3, close it, go into halo pc, and go to bloodgulch, and check out ur new hog (i dont know if it will look good because i dont konw what you did) but this is the process you can use for weapons, vehicles, mc, and everything else you can think of)

Milkshape can import AND export models, it's better than gmax.

3 things:
1.Yes HMT is absolutly necessariy
2.
MasterNeoChief wrote:Milkshape can import AND export models, it's better than gmax.
It is in only in a few ways only because its quicker to load(im talken about milkshape) and is able to import and export .obj files without having to use pugins but overall gmax is the better modeling program but for people who it is there first time moddeling use milkshape
