Ok... You all know SDK will come. I bet no other person will have this opinion but I don't want it to come. Why you ask? Well modding will be so easy. There will be no more forums. No more excitement because modding will be so easy. No more excitement. Oh... You put a grunt in bg. Big whoop. Modding will die out... Well I'm not sayin the program sux and I don't know as fact that SDK contains moddiing easier but think about it. What if it's so good, that it gets bad. Everyone could then do same stuff as BOLL and Pfthagoras ( or however you spell his name ) and nothing will be cool anymore. You may say oh screw it, I don't care, maybe it won't be so great and won't support modding but... well... you know...

u've got a point there... maybe whoever runs the thingy where they take the FTP uploads and puts them on the site will choose wisely... i want SDK... even if modding eventually gets boring, it'll be fun for a while. a long while. long long... think of it, endless models and base structures! so many modders out there, who knows what could happen!

ya wow never thought a that before. pretty soon half of the servers will be a bunch of fags thinking they are so good for modding the stupidest thing with a program that does it for u.

and as for the thing with BOLL i totally agree. He actually did it by himself
now complete idiots could do wat he did with a little practice, in 2 seconds.
WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO!!

the world got to close to AOL. too many easy-as-1-2-3 tutorials for programs, to many help tutorials and guides.

You do have a point Shadow. I like programming, but when it comes to this I leave it to the bored college students to modding. They make great hits like a "CS" for Halo, etc. The crappy mods get ignored.

. I'm sad in advance. I was thinking about making a huge powerpoint slideshow for modding. I decided not to. Past mid-November. SDK is coming nearer. Hopefully gearbox will hold it back more. Maybe that's why they're holding it now, they want to see how far we can get. Doubt it though.

I say SDK would be good because you could do whatever. You can make endless mods to Halo. As long as people have ideas we will need forums. As long as people mod they will come into trouble and need forums. So in an essence these forums will still be of use. Maby even more swamped with posts.

Whatever and ya, pfthafo... oh forget it... Ya he invented it. So.? Everyone invents something. If he didn't someone else would have.,.,.,. I showed my friend two secrets that I made up that no one else in the world knows in bg. So? I fiqured out to change size of units b4 the tut came out in Age of Mythology. I was like the first to know that and pft.... invented halo modding.

im excited about SDK but... they need to only give SDK to modders with experience. like me! and boll..., and pshfors... something, and glasssJAw. well... thats still not alot... i know there are other modders out there but, someone should talk to the SDK peoplez and ask for it to be released to experienced modders. and the modders will swear not to give it to anyone else! it could be good that way... at least i think it will be. (if this idea is followed through, i wanna copy! i am good at modding the old way... well its not old yet, but it will be... i think)

You people are missing something here... so what if there are alot of mods out there when you wanna make one? If I mod or something, and set a goal, I try to do it. The mod might be kind of neat afterwards, but then you can still add more... and more.... then it's really nice. If you try and spread the word, it could get popular.
Or, it could suck ass and then never be heard of again. But that's life.

Just because something is hard, doesn't make it superior...I'm a dev person by nature...And if you look into BansheeWars, it was complex techinically...That doesn't make it a good mod, or me a good modder...With the SDK, the mod would take a matter of minutes to complete (minus ZexGX's hard work on the banshee texture)...Does the time spent on a mod really reflect how 'fun' it is?..Alls it changes is the dedication of those who make it...
The SDK probably will increase the calibur of mods released, because more non-dev people can do the things their creative minds wish...It will also increase the quantity of quick slaped together mods...
And I do believe its PfhorSlayer...And he has been of great influence, and importance...But you always have to remember in the back of your mind, for every person you think is 'all important', theres a half a dozen names that you don't even know about who were just as important to getting us where we are today...
