Let's see if anyone can do this...

As we all know, Microsoft had three years to get Halo out on the PC right, and they totally f***ed it up by taking out what is argubly the best part in the game - cooperative :x . Well, I wanna know if anyone could acutally make a mod for Halo that allowed cooperative play in the single-player missions. Even if there was no way to properly sync it online, there should at least be a LAN option. Take Half-Life, for example. A bunch of modders got together and created Sven Co-op, a mod that is made of online cooperative play in missions, including the original single-player ones. I dunno if it's possible for Halo, because I think Valve released the source code for HL or something. Someone let me know if they can do it! The whole Halo gaming population will pour honor on the person who can make such a mod.

In the meanwhile, I will email Microsoft and Bungie and bug the hell out of them for a big patch that allows co-op play.

Even if you don't know modding, PLEASE, use the search button first.
That will save another bit of flaming and such.
This has been asked much times, so use the search button first.

The source files needed to extend the functionality of the Half-Life engine were made public to everyone who wanted them. This enabled any user to edit the HL engine to their liking, that including making new mods, which technically Sven Co-op is.

Microsoft has no plans of releasing source along with their HEK, so changes the Halo engine will be non-existant or very limited.
