Holy Scorpion Tank Shells Batman!!!

just thought you guys might be interested in trying out my first effort of "modding" bloodgulch.map. :D

i followed the tutorial from halomods.com to edit the:

assault rifle
shotgun
sniper rifle
pistol
flame thrower
warthog machine gun

to all fire Scorpion Tank shells. pictures and download link included in the above article. 8)

thx, mang! i didn't think it was so hard to change around hex values. albeit- it was much easier by following the online tutorial. the game is absolutely crazy now, though. played it online with 6 players and people/vehicles/weapons were flying all over the place. :D funny stuff!

and yes- Strongbad is teh_win!!! i homestarrunner.com on monday mornings religiously.

y dont u just make the switches urself, this isnt worth the trouble of ppf.. its way to easy to make

i would be happy to create a ppf file you all- if i wasn't so lazy to figure out how to do it. i find it far easier to just edit it myself, zip it up and upload it to my webspace. *shrugs* it's only 4.07 MB- it's not the end of the world if you have to download it. :wink:

i had thought about making every weapon fire the tank shells ala Excessive mod for quake3. but maybe that would be a BIT over the top. it lags bad enough as it is when i fire the shotgun at nearby vehicles. though it is fun to watch them fly around

why thank you very much! i've had fun playing around with the settings for bloodgulch. good stuff!

what i'm interested in doing now is modding a weapons (ie. the assault rifle) to be a grenade launcher. if i switch the bullet projectile to that of the fragmentation grenade, they just spill out instead of being launched.

what do i need to do to make a grenade-lobbing weapon? i'd rather it not just shoot straight ahead. maybe use the same physics as throwing a grenade by hand?
