HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I am reading a basic META tutorial and already I have found trouble. How do you find a META value in Hex Workshop (a Hex Editor).

I've tried using FIND and inserting the letter number mess but UH... nothing happens.

Please help me out!
