Using Sapien with Halo PC

This is of course AI related. I can easily PMI AI into a multiplayer map via the whole swapping vehicle drivers thing, but this limits the number and type of AI that can go into the map, and from what I've been reading, it is possible to edit the maps through the Halo CE Sapien and actually create AI spawn points in Blood Gulch. A couple of questions pertain to this. One, do you have to have a 3D modeling program such as 3DStudio Max to just ADD AI to an already built map? If not, how do you convert it into a .scenerio (etc.) file so that Sapien recognizes it? The other question is pretty simple. If this is too much trouble for someone to answer, since the actual HEK offers little dummied down help in this area, if someone can't explain the answer, can they link me to a topic that can? Thanx

Yes it is possible...
www.halomaps.org look in utilites for HMVC
it converts PC to CE and CE to PC but you have to edit the map on your own....

uh yes it does ive done it! ive converted CE maps and edited them and if im correct ce should be able to be edited with sapien.

... sapien edits .scenario files, not compiled .map files.

sorry to tell u but u cant convert custom maps ive done it once and it took an hour of hex editing and at the end it was all messed up (but it did open in hmt i also have got a halo 2 map to open in hmt)

thats not converting a map, thats hexing the header so that hmt THINKS its a pc map... it wont open in HHT, Sparkedit or Halo PC.

Is there a way to convert either the Halo PC maps or the default maps that come with Halo CE into .scenario maps without taking it through a program such as 3DStudio Max? I know you'd basically be decompiling the map, which would be a bit rough, but I've seen the Halo2CE team do with with Blood Gulch. I mean, they would've either had to rebuild Blood Gulch from scratch (which would suck) or take the existing one and edit it. It has been done, I'm just not sure how they did it. Maybe they hexed it, but I hope not seeing as how my C++ skills aren't exactly up to par. Has anyone tried?

There's a tool called HEKPlus, which allows you to decompile Halo PC/CE Maps into Halo CE tag form.

Oh thats right! I remember it being mentioned, but I didn't see it included in the HEK pack. Do they have it on this site?

AI is placed through Sapien, not 3ds, 3ds is used to model the map and place stuff like Portals for better FPS (not teleporters). Sapien is for everything else, but good luck!
