Stinger Missiles

looking for help or ideas on creating a Banshee killing missle for mp games. i would like to make it a homing misile of possable (possably changes to existing rockets??}
please help .............
extended range would be nice too

Just give the rocket the banshee wing/tank shell contrail, change its homing value higher, and up the speed. Instant SAM.

lol i did this once but i used the defoliant from the flamethrower and used 50 as homing omfg it ALWAYs hits

Yeah and when the speed and homing are really high it looks like a missile on steroids. It will literally do a 180 in midair to hit the target. lol

edit the projectile model and make it look like a missile and then make the banshee shoot it

Actually it would be more like pretty confusing for anyone who joined your game, unless they had the mod too. They would just see rockets fly by and miss horribly and then they'd suddenly be dead. And of course then they'd get annoyed and leave.

i dont get how u edit the meta values to change a projectile's speed and other stuff!! ive read a buncha tuts but i dont get it!

It's kind of a pain in the ass to do with a hex editor, and I wouldn't recommend it to beginners. Just use HMT. Simplifies it to a matter of opening the map, clicking the projectile, changing a number, and closing the map.

All you have to do is go to projectile, whatever projectile you want, and increase/ decrease the minimum/maximum projectile speed.

using hmt? cuz using hexplorer i go 2 the meta offset 4 say...the plasma grenade meta value and i see 05 00 00 00 and i changed it to 09 but nothing happens so ya i guess i need hmt

Use HMT3, it's better than any Hex Editor in this case.

how do u change the trail or wake of the projectile/rocket/anything..? i think it would be really cool to make the trail the flames of the flamethrower instead of the normal smoke/white line...

actually it's Contrail/Weapons/Rocket Launcher/Exhaust, and I'm not sure if you can import flamethrower flames into the contrail section.

im not completely sure but wouldnt you just swap the contrail particle with the Flamethrower muzzle particle... or whatever it is...
and the homing should only be at the most 5.... because i made the banshee shoot rockets in Bloodgulch shoot rockets that homed at 4.234blahblahblah and they almost never missed... while at the same time being well balancesd... if your going to make a mod with a homing rocket launcher make it hard to get.... like switching the rocket launcher with the flamethrower and vice versa... you can also do this with spark edit

... and then start your own server and reak havoc on your unsuspecting foes!
