Okay, I'm seeing a lot of downright s*** on these forums in the past hour. Spamming, gay porn...where are the admins and moderators? This is unacceptable. The board deserves to be kept up better than this. :x

uhhh this is spamming here, if u have a problem just contact the moderators or admin and explain that there is some bad things being posted, dont crowd up the boards with posts on how they are doing a bad job, obviously they cant be here 24/7 reading everypost, they always have deleted things that have needed to be deleted and they will still. Just pm or aim them with any problems they are fast on reacting they just need the help of us who care also.

i remember how breez.tv went down....it was my favorite halo community forums site back in the only xbox halo days.

it went down because there were spam ATTACKS and only ONE admin/moderator. all other moderators previously betrayed the admin..maybe some of you remember the site with BloodGulchMaster, Steel, Sniphr, and many others....im sure a lot of you know charging99 and darth niven too. charging99 was the guy who spammed red vs blue basement (every topic) with granny porn and red vs blue basement was down for 3 hours. crazy stuff i know

Beastman, I have tried PMing the moderators and they never answer me. If there was another way to make my complaints known believe I would've done it. I don't like having to create an actual complaint post, but that's just what it's come to. :?

I see u have aim, just im walka, he is usually online and will answer pretty quick most of the time, all u have to do is say "hey some guy is posting some pretty bad stuff heres teh link just thought ud like to know" But i understand what u are saying, I just dont think u should take up room with something like this, its not going to change how much time the moderators spend of this site, its just gonna get the ticked off if they see half the members saying how they are doing a bad job or somthing.

Yeah, I see your point. They can delete this topic if they feel like it.

I agree. We don't spend all day browsing the forums, because we have lives.

The community needs to control itself to some extent. We cannot be policing the forums 24/7. And its not just new members that are spamming. People that post multiple one line responses in a row, are spammers also. People that post for no other reason than to get their post count up are spammers. A general rule of thumb is, that if what you want to say has no true relevence to the topic, DON'T POST IT AS A REPLY! If you feel you need to have a back-and-forth personal conversation with someone that posted in the forums, THE THREAD IS NOT the place to do it. You should always conduct stuff like that over some form of instant messenging, chat or forum PMs. I see threads that start out very good, then degenerate into two/three people just replying (but not about the SUBJECT of the post) and/or flaming each other.

Perhaps, we could do a better job of removing spam and offtopic posts if you guys (you know who you are) that flame and just out and out reply to topics with useless text could moderate yourself or let us moderate how we can. You whine and complain when we delete a whole thread of flames or spam because your beloved post count decrements. But then you want us to remove all the flaming and all the spamming from the forum. If a topic shouldn't be the forums because its innappropriate or completely off-topic, it makes far more sense to remove the entire thread instead of just locking it. And if you lose some of your post count while we're removing the ridiculous posts you hate, atleast know THAT is why its going down (if you didn't reply to ridiculous/off-topic threads, then when they are deleted you wouldn't lose any posts. The forums aren't about post count, post count has nothing to do with your skill/expertise in anything, much less Halo modding.

Here's any example:
http://www.halomods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4117

The first two replies answered his question, and the third is still sorta relevent. Everything from Vegito's incorrect answer on isn't needed.

We also DO NOT need you guys to leave us little notes in a off-topic/flame thread like "moderator: plz lock this topic its stupid". If we're reading your little note about what you think the moderators should do to the topic, then obviously we're already reading the topic and can make that decision for ourselves.

but see this is tottaly why we need a general chat fourm so then we can talk about things that are off-topic
can sumone pleaze do that?

Who here thinks they could be a better moderator than the other moderators that this website hired

I'm not saying I could do a better job than these guys. I fully understand where they're coming from. We all have lives, and no one can be here all the time to moderate the board. What needs to be implemented is some kind of voting system where the community members can vote to have a thread closed or a forum member suspended. And if not that, at least a system where forum members could flag certain threads or members to be examined by the moderators.

But kommie is right. The forum has rules, and all the members agree to follow the forum rules in that little disclaimer when you register. People should have the responsibility to be good contributing members to this community.

I don't think, in any forum, that making a thread saying "i wanna be a moderator" that you'll actually get to be one, unless the admins are high.
