how do i make a projectile REALLY home in? i mean like... well heres an example:

1) locked on target
2) fire weapon
3) projectile head toward target
4) projectile misses
5) projectile turns back and hunts down target

instead of this:

1) locked on target
2) fire weapon
3) projectile heads toward target
4) projectile misses
5) projectile completely forgets about target and goes on to hit a friendly

In the Weap pulldown of HMT, select the weapon you want to home in.

Check the Aim Assist box.
Increase the Auto Aim Range to something obscene like 9999.
Increase the Magnetism Range to about the same.
Increase the Deviation Angle to about the same.

Edit: OK, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm working on it.

I know there's a way to make things like rockets track, but I can't, for the life of me, figure out what. Sorry. I guess I'll just have to do some tutorial searching.

That's what I was talking about, but I couldn't get it to work. Basically make the homing SO freaky high that it CAN'T miss.

either that..

either that, or swap out the rocket thing to the needler thing..

i used to do that, just auto-homing stuff...

im going to start making a lot of mods as soon as I get ungrounded, of course.....

but, yeah, just change the auto-aim to 9999 and make a server on lan and play it like that, man.

you might get an error or something when you edit it, i used to get it, also..
heck, i didnt even know how to use sparkedit, rofl...

hope that works.

But not the meta, just the homing. Swapping teh meta will make the weapon fire needles.

te reason the weapons loose the targdt is because there is a hard-coded 'cone' in which they search for a target, once the target is outside of this cone, th eprojectile looses its lock. One way around this is to make the projectile so it bounces (give a nade homing ability, for example). when the nade bounces, it is now pointing in a new direction, so if the target is in front of it, it wil be sought out again. This is especially amusing when used in small spaces against jackals (bounces off shield, ounces off wall and loops back around to hit shield again, and while it does this, eery enemy near by has a heart attack)

Yeah, screwing around with this, trying to get it to work, I changed The Maw, but forgot to make a backup. Now I've got to drag a new one off the disk. Oops.
