I was wondering if I could have some help renaming vehicles. I know how to do it, but it doesn't really work. I'm trying to rename the warthog and I can get to the unicode string where it says W.a.r.t.h.o.g. I want to be able to add/subtract letters as well. Thanks in advance.

well

Okay you can make the text string longer. It was done in hog wars by iron_forge, so check his site there is a tutorial for it.You would have to rebuild the map though. In HW go to the go-to section and in the drop down box select uni coded text string then type in warthog it will bring you to W.a.r.t.h.o.g you cannot make it longer here only shorter or the same size.Image

you cant add letters. It has to be under the letters in the word currently. So, if you want the W.a.r.t.h.o.g to be B.i.g F.r.e.a.k.i.n.g C.a.r (example) then you cant do it. But It can be shorter. You can remane it H.o.g.g.y.

Why would you need to flame me? Look how much longer that I've been a member than you. Sure, you may have more posts than me, but of you head over to HackHalo, I'm quite a prestegious member. Please don't flame. All I'm saying is that I can't find that anywhere on forgie's site and I've tried the way I used to remember it as. I just can't remember if I'm doing it right.

Sorry...I did type a flame then I deleted it because I found a quote.

Try skimming the "Add A vehicle" and "Creating UniCode Strings" Tuts, probably in there.

ugh

"People"? No offence but:
Yes, I just said that 4 posts ago, QUOTING you, because in the previous post, he still wanted to know.
Look how much longer that I've been a member than you.
And that points that you know more than me (or from the vibe that gives off, and yet I have been registered for about a week, seen at least 4 topics about this, knew how to do it, and yet someone who says he/she is a "prestigous" member of HackHalo and registered for 3 months didn't.

Thank you self contridiction.

yup yup, looks like you caught him too...to the author, next time, instead of immeadeatly coming back asking for a direct link, how about searching the site or using logic. perhaps you might learn something in the process, or become more adept at problem solving so you can spare us this little melodrama...consider the aforementioned statement before ever posting here again.

I did search the site for about 45 minutes with no luck. I searched the forums numerous times and came up empty handed. I'm not some lazy-ass n00b. I looked, and I couldn't find anything, so I'm asking for some help.

This is a message to some of the n00bs, from a n00b. I spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out what the hell IronForge's tutorial was saying. Fortunately after a little piss offedness and a little creativity, I figured it out. The recommendation to look at the Creating a Unicode String thingy is a good idea, it helped me out a whole lot. AIM me if you think I might be able to help you. I don't really feel like typing up a whole new tutorial if there is one already out there. In fact the URL for said tutorial is: http://forge.halomods.com/mod-ustr.php
