Good Game Video Card

Guys, is there anyway i can force halo to view shadows even if my video card disallows it in the video settings area? like any kind of ini file or something i can go to and type in code to force it to view shadows? i really wanna get the best out of that generals skin. well the best i can out of it

Nope. If you aren't allowed to change the 'Shadows' setting, then there's good reason; your computer simply can't display that stuff in the way that it needs to. Sorry.

I have just got a $300 dollar video card, a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB !!!!!!

Um...yeah you need a new video card if you can't even enable shadows and decals and stuff.

I got one even better than Demons ATI All In Wonder 9800 Pro 128MB

This thing smokes in Halo!!!!! 90FPS @ 1024x768!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you try adding the command lines to your games shorcut? Add these to the end of the Target field in the Properties window to see if it will enable the effects:

"DRIVE:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -useff
(lowest image quality, best poerformace)
"DRIVE:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -use11
(balence between performance and image quality)
"DRIVE:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -use20
(defalt setting for most pcs)

If this doesn't work, then you should propaply upgrade. You can find a NVidia Geforce FX 5200 for less than 100 bucks at Best Buy or somwhere.

GEFORCE FX5200 256MB DDR is equivilant to my graphics card. Just a bit more powerful. And mine is the Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128 mb, soon to be upgraded. That is a not a very good deal. Because those cards are dirt cheap right now
