First, when you download a modded Halo PC map, back up your map files that are in the Maps folder in the Halo folder. Then, move the modded map into the Maps folder, and overwrite the old one. Then, enjoy. For CE, it's the same, except you don't have to back up your old maps.

If you don't understand back up, which I doubt you don't, it means to copy the maps and place them in another folder, so you can replace them if you screw something up.
If it's CE, that Custom Edition, it has more flexibility as far as modding goes.
If you don't understand where to put them, go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\Maps and move the .map file you get in the download to that folder.

Gephyrophobia. You can find the maps on your Halo CD. Just look around, I can't for the life of remember the exact folder.

You can make your own, if you like. Download HMT, that's Halo Map Tools, from the files section of Halo Mods and read a tutorial for projectile swapping. Afterwards, get to work making some really fun mods! Here's one you can do: Tank Shotgun, Plasma Rifle Overshield. You can go to the top of Blood Gulch and survive the fall. If you time everything right.

It's only about 13.5 MB, if I recall. It's very small for how big of an impact it can make on a game.

Which one did you download, and how did you install it? I know this is a stupid question, but it can make all the difference.

Ok i downloaded the Red elites vs Blue elites one. When the installer thing poped up i went into my halo folder and went to maps then i clicked damnation.map(it was the map it was for)and saved it. It said Damnation.map already exits do you want to overright it? i clicked yes. thats all.

Alright, I'm going to go and test this on my Halo PC, just to make sure it isn't possibly something wrong on your end. *Closes Opera.*

It's pretty fun, but it's laggy and difficult. Might've just been the settings I had, but the Elites didn't die from a Sticky being on them.
Anyway, you might have fouled up the installation, or your version of Halo isn't up to date. If it isn't, you can just go to multiplayer, and hit the join online button, and it should update when you click yes. If your Halo is up to date, re-install. When you get to the part where you select your destination folder, take a screenshot of it. If you don't know how, push the Prt Screen key, open up MS Paint, right go to edit, and then paste. Then save that as a .png file, and upload it here using Imageshack.us
Edit: I'm going to sleep now. I'm sorry that I can't help more at this time, but other people on these forums can/will/should help you more.

I meant to re-install the map, by the way. I read through it a few minutes ago, and realised how frickan tired I was. It sounded like I explained it back then! Well, good luck with modding. If you good enough(Start swapping models) I might recruit you for my campaign mod!
