quick question----

Post by bblbuddy »

how do I make it so that when you shoot a flamethrower at the ground or something its like a jetpack-ish effect? like fly into the air and everything? just wondering, cause i've seen it many times and i've been aching to know how to do it and i cant figure it out! (btw sorry if its the wrong forum!!!) :? :?:

it'd only work when you're aiming down, but you open up HMT and make the force really high, then just to make it more controlled, you about half the range, and make the damage 0, but I'm not sure if you can make it do it in the air.... maybe make it go really fast, and make it's life short, so if you're aiming down, it'll bounce up, then dissapear. I'm not saying it'll work, but it might. *Shifty eyes*

you open up HMT, open up bloodgulch.map (make sure it's backed up first) and scroll down that big list until you find jpt!. You click on that and look for the flamethrower's flame tag, and click on that. Once that's all done, you look for force, and you put it up to whatever you want, and put damage to 0. remember, though, if you wanna go really high you'll have to turn off falling damage.

it's probably that either the life is too short, or the force isn't strong enough to push. It could also be moving too fast.

the damage has to be 0.0000001 force has be like 10 and the flame life span has to be like 0.1

And if they don't accept Jesus as their Personal Savior, you can kill them later. How cool is that!

No, it's not related to the storyline and such, it's a modding related question...?

Damage to change: flamethrower impact damage (I think, just change all the flamer ones if that doesn't work).

Lifespan is under the [proj] (projectile) tag, go to flamethower, set lifespan to a big number, like 200 or something.
