movable scenery

i got the covenant weapons crates to be movable like the ones in halo 2. and i was wondering if anyone has done this before. and no its not a simple dependancy swap in hht...well kinda. :) but there are a few glitches with it such as: if the crate is on its side its tilted sideways a little with the back in the air but im pretty sure this can be fixed in hmt if you edit the physics. also is it possible to make the boxes move on there own? like slide across the floor?

You have to create custom physics and match it wtih your model. It involves MAX and HEK, though, and it has to be a vehicle, or else it won't sync online.

it is basically a vehicle at heart

check your pm's
We used this setup to create the flying meteors and sliding rocks in the gephyropocalypse mod on HPC

awesome decoy and awhile ago i asked about making scenery movable but everyone said it wasn't possible and stuff but then just today i started thinking about it and came up with that idea.

i did this once as well. not to hard :P

just a matter of swapping dependencies with HHT, then playing around with the physics tag till its just right :P

yea but i can't get the physics to work correctly cause i'm not sure how much to alter them and what to alter. would you mind helping me out phenomena? and would it fix the way it kinda floats towards the back? i was thinking to fix it you should edit the x point of mass but i wasn't sure how much to set it at for the box

I did this once too. Never did anything with the physics tag though. It couldn't be tilted with explosions, and if you ran into it with a ghost it would react as if it ran into any other vehicle (meaning it will fly up :D)

The only problem is with using older physics, even if modified, it never correctly matches your model. That's why you gotta make new ones.
