Simple question - out of the hacks you've played with so far, which one is the most fun? In my case this isn't one of the truly wacky hacks (like replacing projectiles with vehicles, etc.)... those are fun to see but not very fun to play with for a long period of time. My personal favorite has got to be the very simple offset edit of replacing assault rifle bullets with plasma cannon shots. When you spray a whole clip up into the air, it looks like an entire bombing raid all at once. And let me tell you, if you're accurate enough to judge the distance correctly, you can clear out an entire Blood Gulch base (and all surrounding areas) with one clip. It's also fun to be hidden away sniping, and just look around for the sprays of plasma so you can find people to shoot in the head.

I just played a server using these mods, the first 3 are ppf files i made myself( I just learnt, new to this stuff, but learnig quickly):

• Rocket pistol mod

• Rocket Sniper mod

• Banshee shoots rockets instead of fuel rods mod

And an excellant mod, I don't know how it works, I'd like someone 2 tell me...Pleasw

That would be my gave mod.... it just rox watching them fcuking rockets chasing a banshee.. but it sux watching them home in on you. Thanks for a great mod.

BOLL's Wheels on Fire patch. That is so damn tight.
It doesn't just make the wheels fiery; it also:
- Makes the Plasma Riffey shoot charged bolts.
- Makes the Hog's MG shoot charged bolts.
- Makes the Rocket Hog/ lancher shoot needler shots... I'm not sure but they might be superpowered.
- EDIT: Makes all vehicles IN MULTIPLAYER(only the 'Hog is speedy in single player) quite fast; so fast that if you turn at a fast enough speed, your vehicles will instantly flip...then roll.. and roll... and roll...
- Renames vehicles(Warthog = Puma, Scorpion = Shella)
- Makes the Assault Riffey shoot plasma shots EDIT: In some levels in single player - all levels(I believe) in multiplayer.
- Makes the Plasma Nades turn into over shields. EDIT: In some single player levels. All I think in MP.
EDIT: - Makes the Plasma Pistol shoot rockets when charged(in some SP levels, all I think in MP).
I might have missed stuff...

Also, the bouncy P-Nade patch. Throw a P-Nade in small space... you can watch it for hours. Also use them to block your base enterances(SirLuke: Heh heh heh... lets see those damn blue-coats try to steal our flag now....

Yeah, swapping offsets takes a real genius & boatloads of experience...

FYI, don't know if you read all these posts, but several people already mentioned hacks that THEY made. For example, my original post.

Hex if you're trying to insult me or anyone else here, then go to hell. Even if you weren't, you still basically were. Probably most in here, including me, mod, if not, are smart enough to.

- Also one of my favorite things to do is to put WOF mods on the single player maps. It can make the game more challenging and fun.
How is it challenging if the weapons you get kick the ass anyway, you might inquire. Well, like I said, the plasma rifle shoots charged bolts. So, you can guess how much more fun it is to kill Elites. Also, on some levels, the plasma pistol charged shoots a ROCKET, so watch out for them Jackels. AND, on Assault on the Control Room atleast, the needles are ULTRA POWERFUL. So even Grunts pose an actual threat on AOTCR.

LBManiac, you need to learn meta to do the homing rocket thing, as well as a whole lot of other things, like flying vehicles for example.
It's kinda hard to understand though.

No, you said that everyone who inserts PPF instead of modding is what you said. Maybe they don't have the time and just want to grab a quick twisted Halo game.

Even though I think banshees are cheap enough as is, I made this mod where the banshee became completely invisible. There was no distortion or anything. That was pretty cool. I donno, banshee wars was ok.

hey dalecooper are you being sarcasitic, if your not i dont think you know what you are talking about. Editing hex is very simple, I was swaping bitmaps and sounds within ten minutes of reading that tutorial about projectiles. I also agree with -=]-[EX=- about people who use ppf's and call themselves hackers/modders. I use hex to make my own mods(bitmaps and such, still working on that meta, I am starting to understand but i havent yet used it in any of my mods yet) and I dont even think of my self as a hacker, I am a modder but I dont think i am good enough to call myself a hacker.

any ways back to the main subject. I made a mod with 3 diffrent things I put the tank skin on the banshee, gave it a chain gun and a rocket launcher(I also had to change around the sounds and such), I then rerouted the teleporter to go to the top of the tower in BG, and I also made the player throw master cheifs instead of grenades( which does no damage but can be used to do some cool stuff)
