Speed Kills...

I've started work on a new mod...(I'm at work right now, so I don't have it infront of me), but so far I've made the warthog(s), ghost, and scorpions faster...
While this is a common mod, I've also spent alot of time with their other physics stats to try and retain the original 'feel' you get driving them, as well as make them controllable at higher speeds...The warthog is also drivable from all three positions now, and the turret on it can be fired from the gunner and driver positions...The passenger position is still first person, giving a nice new view for driving (though this position is difficult to drive from)...
The MC has been given a 'run' ability to replace the duck...Now when you press the duck key, the MC will retain his height, but move significantly faster...
No ETA yet on its release...ATM its just a standard offset swap / value change mod, which doesn't really have anything technical done to it...I plan on adding something of this nature before releasing...I'm just not completely sure what it will entail...
The goal as always, is to have a fully playable mod when I'm finished, not just another 'thats cool' mod thats loaded, seen, and closed...
Just a heads up for everyone about what I'm working on...If your interested in doing any of the above, wait for the mod, you'll be able to find all the information then...

Sounds great! Your always a step ahead of us Iron. Also, how do you get your rating higher? I'm tired of being a stinky, smelly, grunt

Just replace the side seat physics with the driver seat physics. I think...

You think projectile swapping is hard? If you do, then this is.
Anyway, where are we gonna download it Iron? Your site?
I'm curious with the rating thing too...

I decided against this mod...I don't think it would be very "playable" when its done...More a "wow thats nice", then removed...I don't want to release a mod that people aren't going to play, its a waste of time...
I've started some brainstorming on what to work on next...Some of the ideas from this will probably end up in whatever mod I end up doing next...

Or that running thing instead of crouch.. That, imo, is an awesome idea.

What program did you use to make the mod?

Magic is a value that is added to every offset in the map...So when dealing with reflexives, you need to subtract magic from the reflexive value in order to get the true offset...With all the work thats been done and the tools around, it's really only needed now if you tend to do some intensive meta work...(And even then, it can be avoided using extracted map files object.xml's...)
If you look at my offset lists, you will see a value column, with for example D4796F40...This is little endian, so the actual value is 406F79D4...Subtract magic from this (Magic being 3FBEE68C, the map is bloodgulch.retail, and the object vehicles/scorpion/scorpion medium antenna.antenna for those interested.)...406F79D4 - 3FBEE68C == 00B09348, which, just happens to be the meta offset of this object (seen under the meta column)...Hope this helps...
Now to take up alittle space to comment on something which seems to be growing rampent in these forums...I mean no disrespect to some of those who host this site, people like Gren and SourceGuy deserve more than most people give them...
However, it appears to be common to flame and be a general asshole, wasting a perfectly good post, when in the same time, you could've acctually helped someone...Normally I don't help many people anymore...I don't have time, and I've grown way to bitter at a portion of the community...It should be noted, this anger is not towards the so called "n00bs", or the people genuinely trying to do something...
There is a large growing "group" of people who appear to have nothing better to do than believe they are all knowing all powerful beings who are grand masters of Halo Modification, and anyone who may challenge this position should be mocked, or put down...
If you don't want to help, thats fine, I can go along with that...But it's much easier and less time consuming to just not help, and move along, than it is to waste everyones time adding a post, one which I can only assume has the single purpose of attempting to start yet another flaming thread, or to try and boost your own ego as "better than everyone else"...
I sure as hell am not better than quite a few of the people I associate with in the community, so news flash, where does this leave you?..It's time to step off your high horse...

Was that aimed at me? Because I can say that I suck at hacking.
