OK. Here's what you need. HMT 3.5 with Phenomena's plugins. Use the
[actv] plugin, set anything involving 'charging' and 'beserking' to ON.
Then, for AIs who drive Hogs and Ghosts, it's the same as single player.
(MasterNeoChief may kill me for this

), check 'AI driver enabled'
and 'AI driver flying' under the [vehi] tag. AND VOILA! Smart AIs! Well,
they drive like stoners. And I mean, STONERS. (But then again, so do
most people I play against in multiplayer.)
Oddly enough, I came up with this idea while planting trees in the back
yard... suss...
Hope nobody beat me to this!
Thanks to Gren, for SE3.02, Mono for HMT, Phenomena for plugins,
MasterNeoChief for teaching me how to make AIs drive, and Bungie for
such a crazy game. Also huge thanks to whoever made the N00b Cult
Banshee AI mod, which I used as the testbed for my discovery. I might
post my mod when I get back from a 2-day holiday

Could you guys please replicate this experiment on AI spawning for me
and verify my results.
I started with a completely original copy of the Gephyrophobia map.
Create a custom gametype called gephtest, slayer, with no vehicles on
the map and the vehicle respawn at never, normal weapons.
Use HMT to copy the ghost Vehicle meta and paste it into the Weapons
shotgun meta instead.
Run Halo at this point to check the following.
Open the map using the new custom gametype.
About half way along the bridge on the lower level there used to be a
shotgun, which should now be a ghost that respawns a new copy of itself
every minute or so. (I think this is because the ghost floats, which
registers as the item((shotgun)) having been picked up.)
Now close the map and using HMT, perform a routine PMI of the Hunter
Actv ACtr and bipd from level D40 into this copy of the Geph map.
Once complete, use HHT as normal to swap the Ghost second actv meta
from null to hunter.
Now when I played the map using the custom gametype, I did not get an
exception, I did get Hunters riding ghosts that continually spawned new
copies. I know its not actual respawn of the original hunter as such....but
it was an endless supply of new enemies.
Unfortunately Geph is one of the maps I seem to have trouble PMI'ing
stuff into.
My hunter models were all spikey and horrible, but they still spawnwed
additional hunters, all fired at me and moved the ghosts around.
I don't know if the messed up models were related to the ghost / shotgun
swap. Please try and replicate the EXACT order I did things in. If I
swapped the ghost/shotgun AFTER PMi'ng the hunter and swapping his
dependencies I got an exception. If I ran the level with Vehicle
respawning on, I got an exception.
EDIT*I got it to work a second time, but now sometimes the ghosts and
hunters spawn totally invisible. They become visible when you fire on
them, and fade again when you stop.... They still fire on you however!
Another problem is the rate of respawning, the shotgun may not have
been the best choice as it respawns too often.
I was eventually overrun by a horde of hunters.
