Halo pc errors..sounds.map, YESSSSS IT WORKS!

well, first off, my halo wouldn't load, it would give me errors right when I started it up! so, my first thought was to re-install halo! but, when I'm reinstalling, it gets an error, and quits re-installing, leaving me with no halo. I then hunt down my cd key, and when I find it, I try to install halo, only to find that several files are missing. Does anyone know why halo gave me the error "memory was refferenced at(so and so) that did not exist" or something of that matter. what I'm trying to say is, I need to know why halo would think I dont have enough memory!
ok, the only file that I THINK is TOTALLY key to halo, is sounds.map, however, I want to know if I can simply get all the files from the files cabs, and run halo withoiut sounds, is it possible to make halo think it's sounds.map so it'll run, but it won't be sounds.map?
ok! I finally got around the sounds.map problem(but in the time being copied all my modding stuff to other comp...oh well) so I can start moding again! =D hoorah!
